and now the 22 News Storm Team
forecast time now 6:43 on this Friday
morning starting off with the beautiful
looking Sky out there over the
Connecticut River looking towards
Springfield this camera here is in West
Springfield but really really nice start
to the day today is going to be
perfectly fine but you know what they
say about a red sky in the morning right
Sailors take warning we got that storm
on the way for later tonight into the
day tomorrow we got a flood watch that
is not now from the National Weather
Service here for haming County uh from
8:00 tomorrow morning until 8:00 in the
morning on Sunday National Weather
servic is still talking about extending
this of course into Hampshire and
friendley County likely later this
morning but for right now this is just
for hamon County again for the day
tomorrow we are all under a winter
weather advisory though until noon
tomorrow this is for later tonight into
tomorrow because we are likely going to
start with some uh winter mixes some
snow and ice later tonight into tomorrow
morning before we see that rain uh take
over tomorrow afternoon so Westfield
right now the sky looking very nice a
clear morning really not much to worry
about as we start off this Friday got
that wind out of the Northwest right now
9 mph Springfield 8 mph in Westfield
winds are going to stay fairly light
through much of the morning into the
afternoon so that's some good news
temperatures currently in the teens and
20s up and down the valley were 19 and
ammer 24 in uh Southampton 26 is the
temperature in Southwick and as we go
throughout the day these temperatures
are going to be staying in the 20s
through much of the morning and then
getting into the 30s and 40s heading
into the afternoon the good news is no
wind chill to worry about for today with
that calm breeze so it'll feel uh more
comfortable than it has been the last
few days because we're not going to be
seeing much wind but increasing clouds
will take over during the afternoon and
that is the top of the 20day storm team
forecast Focus going into tonight winry
mix develops after 1 p.m. so if you do
have any uh evening plans you're heading
out to dinner starting off your weekend
you know Friday evening it looks fine
but then going into tomorrow morning we
got that mix in the morning changing the
heavy rain during the afternoon we could
see 1 to 3 Ines of rain during the
daytime tomorrow and some spots could
see a little more than that can't r at
the chance for someone very localized
getting 3 and 1/2 to 4 in of rain
during the daytime tomorrow and that's
why that National Weather Service is
starting to issue those flood watches
for our area so ESP live Doppler radar
is very quiet right now taking a wider
view here nothing to worry about across
the region I mean we're talking about a
storm and there's no signs of it right
now we got a clear sky out there but
going into tonight we're going to see
the clouds build and also that snow
develop so here we are the TN Storm Team
skycast 7:00 here this morning not a lot
going on through the morning into the
afternoon by 12:00 clouds are going to
start to increase out of the West and
then here we are as we go into the
evening 600 p.m. nice and dry again as I
mentioned you have any evening plans
looks perfectly fine going into the
overnight though 10:00 here that wind is
going to come out of the South that snow
is going to move in from the south and
right around midnight we could see a
brief burst of some light snow before
that warm air starts to take over that
wind is going to come out of the South
heading into tomorrow morning 6:00 a.m.
here snow to the north in the blue that
mixes some sleep and freezing rain in
the pink here and eventually that warm
air continues to take over 9:00 a.m. in
the morning on Saturday it is that
wintry mix of some ice across most of
Western Massachusetts and then
eventually by noon from Greenfield down
91 into Springfield this is all rain but
you head off just to the West into the
birk shears that pink shading it is uh
still holding on to that wintry mix and
then even the birk shears go over to
just rain heading into tomorrow
afternoon tomorrow evening 600 p.m. here
it is raining for everyone could be
hotter to heavy at times and then
tomorrow night around 900 p.m. cold air
filters back in as the storm pushes to
the Northwest that wind comes or excuse
me Northeast that wind comes out of the
Northwest and we change over to a little
bit of some snow and mix again tomorrow
night before it's gone on Sunday so
it'll last from later tonight into the
day tomorrow but Sunday looks perfectly
dry in terms of any snow a coating the 2
in looks likely for most of us but a lot
of this will be washed away by tomorrow
morning with that mix and some rain best
chance of any wet accumulation is along
the Vermont state line and into the
burar especially Northern burshire
County in terms of the ice accumulation
though do expect a light accumulation
for a lot of us not expecting much
around the Greater Springfield area but
the best chance of seeing up to a tenth
of an inch of course is the higher
terrain of the Burk sheares there uh
especially in Western Hampshire Western
frin County for late tonight into
tomorrow either way rain is going to be
the dominant precipitation with this uh
most of us if everyone gets over 2 in of
rain you can see 2 to 3 Ines of rain
heading towards around 10 p.m. tomorrow
night this model goes out to and there
could be some spots that get a little
more again I can't rule out the chance
for maybe 3 and 1 half 4 Ines of rain in
a few spots that's why the National
Weather Service again is starting to put
up those uh flood watches heading into
tomorrow so 40 to 44 out there today mix
of sunning clouds perfectly fine
throughout the daytime going through
tonight the clouds are going to increase
and we do see that mix develop late
after 1 p.m. going towards midnight and
for the rest of the TN new Storm Team
7-day forecast tomorrow a mix in the
morning changing to Heavy Rain into the
afternoon temperatures in the 40s Sunday
Monday Tuesday look quiet and then we do
have that chance for some more rain
towards the end of the 7-day forecast
for Wednesday and Thursday want to stay
