Batik | Batik texture with Aluminum foil

Today I make my video on texture with hot wax. As you know Batik is Indonesian technique of wax resist. We can dye the fabric after batik and paint it too with silk paints. In this video I applied hot wax with crushed aluminum foil and than paint the silk with the silk paints. You can use silk dyes too. Heat the wax and than apply the melted wax with the brush. We can make Dots, lines, shapes and designs with wax. There are few important points to discuss.
1- Heat the wax maximum 120c .
2- Dip the brush in hot wax for 10 to 15 seconds.
3- Apply the wax quickly and make the design fast otherwise wax will solid again.


MATERIALS I USED:

1- Fabric ( Cotton net)
2- Wax (60% bees wax, 40% paraffin wax)
3- Aluminum foil
4- Silk paints
5- Wooden frame
6- Lamp and stand
7- Cotton fabric
8- Plastic sheet
