Today I make my video on texture with hot wax. As you know Batik is Indonesian technique of wax resist. We can dye the fabric after batik and paint it too with silk paints. In this video I applied hot wax with crushed aluminum foil and than paint the silk with the silk paints. You can use silk dyes too. Heat the wax and than apply the melted wax with the brush. We can make Dots, lines, shapes and designs with wax. There are few important points to discuss. 1- Heat the wax maximum 120c . 2- Dip the brush in hot wax for 10 to 15 seconds. 3- Apply the wax quickly and make the design fast otherwise wax will solid again.
Hi guys this is Abid. Textures plays a beautiful role in fabric painting.
Hot wax create amazing visual textures with the help of different materials.
For example, different sizes of the brushes, wires, sponge, dry grass, blocks and net.
In this video, I tried to create textures in very simple way.
You can use these textures in your batik painting. You can find different materials
from your surroundings and utilize them in your batik art.

Cut or tear the aluminum piece from aluminum roll and crush the aluminum with both hands
and press it. Our impression block is ready.
Take any thick cotton piece and fold the fabric two times
and cut the circle according to the wax spot bottom and place these pieces in the wax spot.
Pour the hot wax on the fabric.
Make sure add enough hot wax so that the fabric can absorb this wax.
Now put the wax spot on the lamp stand.
Spread any polythene sheet on the table top and place the fabric on it.
Today I'm using cotton net fabric. You can use any fabric for this texture.
You can also place the folded rough fabric under the polythene sheet for better result.
I'm using aluminum without gloves.
Please wear kitchen gloves before taking impression of aluminum
because when you take wax on the aluminum, it's getting hot.
I'm making one layer of this texture. You can make more layers.
After texture, I will stretch my fabric on the wooden frame and then will paint it.
Let the fabric dry after painting.
When the colors dry out, remove the wax from the fabric.

Wax is removed now. Iron the batik piece 4 to 7 minutes.
I used iron fixed silk paints in this video.
If you are using silk dyes, iron the fabric according to the suggested video
