Martinelli, Gabriel Martinelli expected to miss Arsenal versus Porto through injury.
Not really the news and the noise we want to hear coming out of Arsenal Football Club
or around or surrounding Arsenal Football Club on the eve of a must-win second leg game
at the Emirates against FC Porto where you would have loved for Martinelli to obviously be fit.
Hopefully he's back for Manchester City at the end of the month. Obviously, unfortunately,
in our 6-0 victory against Sheffield United, he sustained a foot injury. I can't confirm this,
but some people that were at the Emirates said Martinelli's foot was in a protective boot.
So hopefully it's a precaution, people, because as you know, we need to tread carefully
with a lot of our players with injuries. And it's annoying. It's like once we start getting
some players back, you know, the Zinchenkos of this world, the Tommy Thomas Partays, the Tommy
Asus, Jesus, etc. There's little rumours of knocks and niggles, such is life, people.
Apparently, Martinelli was absent from training on Monday ahead of this clash, people.
Martinelli's manager, Mikel Arteta, has refused to actually completely rule him out. Now,
maybe he's been ruled out. Maybe it's a bit of mind games where it's a must-win game and
the margins for error are really low. Maybe he just wants to keep people guessing.
If Martinelli isn't playing, for me personally, I want to see Gabriel Jesus play off the left,
Kai Havertz up front and obviously the star boy, Bakayo Saka. I could understand if Trossart
plays through the middle. I mean, well, not through the middle. If he plays off the left,
sorry. But yeah, Arteta said, not many team news. We still have 24 hours and we're trying
to have everybody fit and available. Tommy Asu did the first part of training and Martinelli
didn't. He then said, people, apparently he was pretty positive that, you know, he would have
been available for the match, obviously at the weekend against Brentford. And apparently,
as you can see here, Martinelli was seen on crutches. He said, we had Martinelli and Bakayo
with little issues, he said, before the game. We're pretty positive that hopefully they can
be part of that, but we'll see how they feel. Obviously, Martinelli was selected by his
manager to play England and Spain for international duty where Brazil's concerned. He may or may not
be a part of that. He's actually, in fact, he won't be a part of it. He's been pulled out of
that and someone else has been called up. Currently, he's got eight goals and five
assists in 32 appearances, and he's come a long way from that. I can't remember what the actual
issue was, the knee injury, actually. It might have been this. It has to have been that, that
significant injury he suffered. He's come a long way. But across the last two years, he's been a
bit unfortunate at times, people, you know, 2023-24. Unfortunately, at this moment in time
with a hamstring knock, he's been out for 20 days. But then obviously he's bounced back and
picked up this latest little niggle. Last year, he did have an ankle injury. It only caused him to
miss three games, and to be fair, he's only missed six games at this moment in time. But hopefully,
the 22-year-old is fit sooner rather than later. So yeah, people, let me know your thoughts on
this Martinelli injury news. Do you think this could play a part in our title race? Would you
go with Gabriel Jesus off the left, Smith Rowe off the left even, you know, or Leandro Trosser?
Do you think it makes us stronger or weaker in our pursuit of beating Porto? But yeah,
I thought I'd just do a quick video. Like, comment, subscribe. Check out the rest of the vids. Peace.
