A 600-year-old mosque in China displays strange signs

Recently, the cynicization of religion has been realized. The Nadia Ying Mosque in Tonghai County, Yunnan Province, has been renovated and reopened. The Chinese government has changed the mosque's appearance and rearranged its internal organization. The emerald green dome of the mosque has also been removed. Signs such as Listen to the Party, Be Grateful to the Party, and Follow the Party have also been erected at the entrance of the mosque. The mosque's management committee, initially elected democratically, now has its democratic election abolished. Instead, the Religious Affairs Bureau and the United Front Work Department directly appoint the managers. Some schools inside the mosque have also been closed, and children are not allowed in. It is known that 90% of local mosques have been renovated. Not only in Yunnan, but Beijing is also implementing similarly extreme policies towards mosques in all regions. These mosques are being cleaned up and rebuilt one by one to promote what is called the cynicization of Islam and completely isolate Chinese Muslim believers from the Arab world and their religion. The spokesman for the World Uyghur Congress, Dilshad Rasid, said the Chinese Communist Party, being atheist and without belief, dares to oppress religious freedom. Rasid called on the international community to exert pressure on the Chinese Communist Party, or CCP, and end their suppression of religious freedom. He said that the CCP is cleansing and eradicating beliefs, targeting not only Islam but also Christianity and Buddhism, and even systematically oppressing the Falun Gong spiritual movement amidst everyday life. Therefore, the systematic suppression of faith by the CCP requires immediate action from the international community. The Nadia Ying Mosque has a history of over 600 years, can accommodate thousands of people at once, and bears a strong Arabesque style. Last year, on May 27th, a mosque was forcibly demolished by the authorities, causing waves of protest from thousands of Muslim residents. The people clashed with thousands of armed police officers, and dozens were administratively detained. Since 2017, most mosques with domes and churches with crosses on top have been demolished or renovated.
