Rep. Abbarno discusses his effort to improve government transparency on the Top of Mind podcast
Rep. Peter Abbarno, R-Centralia, recently went on the @topofmindpod with Julie Rose to discuss his efforts to streamline access to public records in Washington and make state government more open, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves.
Abbarno is sponsoring House Bill 1856, which would commission a legislative task force and broad-based study on the establishment of the Washington Office of Transparency Ombuds. The ombuds would serve as a nonpartisan and independent agency tasked with helping Washingtonians access public records.
