Mashup: House Republicans speak out against Democrats' rent control bill

Minutes before cutoff on Tuesday, House Democrats brought their rent control bill to the floor for a vote. We spoke out boldly against this policy because we know it will ultimately hurt tenants, decrease the supply of rental housing, result in less development of rental properties, and make our state’s housing crisis worse. Despite our efforts, the bill was approved 54-43.
