【Classical music and nature Felix Mendelssohn: String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80 - II. Allegro assai. This beautiful piece was played by Musopen String Quartet. It has Creative Commons license (PDM 1.0 DEED, Public Domain Mark 1.0 Universal) and is provided through www.musopen.org.

Dear viewer:

To be very honest, I do not like cold, and I like bitter cold even less, but when it is very, very cold, the snow freezes into beautiful ice crystals that glitter and shine, which I like very much. But there is one problem, a small one, but one that is worthy of discussion. We humans have two eyes, so what we see with both eyes is quite different from what we see when we close one eye (especially when it comes to glittering snow...) It is amazing how much more glittering snow I saw with my eyes than my camera (which has only "one eye") could possibly capture. And there is a second problem. We are constantly moving, so the sunlight is constantly reflected off the various crystals, making it sparkle everywhere. But as soon as I put my "one-eyed" camera on a trypod, it stops moving, so I have to wait for the sun to move so that other parts of the glittering snow reflect their glitter directly into our camera, so that our viewer can see the beauty of the very, very cold snow. I hope you can see how different crystals start to sparkle as the sun moves towards sunset.

This very cold glittering snow was captured by Simone Schlegel in a small valley in Switzerland, the video was edited by Wenjing Ma.
