Charlie McDonnell, known as "CharlieIsSoCoolLike," is a British YouTuber who rose to fame in the early days of the platform. He started his channel in 2007, and by 2011, became the first UK YouTuber to hit one million subscribers, thanks to his engaging vlogs, skits, and collaborations with other YouTubers. However, over time, the frequency of his uploads decreased significantly. McDonnell struggled with the pressures of internet fame, which took a toll on his mental health.
His content interests also shifted from regular vlogging to more science-oriented content on his newer channel, "Charlie's Desk." In 2021, he discussed the possibility of semi-retirement from regular YouTube production to pursue other interests, marking a significant transition in his career.
