(Bundesliga 2023/2024): Highlights Leverkusen - Borussia M'gladbach

It's matchday 19, it's Leverkusen against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Grimaldo couldn't get his head fully to that. Nadiem Amiri, he's in the starting lineup today. Shoot they said and shoot he did. And he, you were telling me earlier on, he's really happy to be back. Wurz on the far side now, putting across. Handball, big appeal. Referee allows play to continue. And it's saved by Niklas because it's straight at him. Again, it's all about intent. Another effort, just flashing past the upright from Wurz. Which is understandable. He's got a captain's armband today. There he was on the ball, getting it across. Now Lukanets looking for a shot. And a save from Machikova keeps the youngster out. Well, there's not been a nil-nil between these two sides since April 2004. And if they give the ball away like that, it's not going to be won today. Last-ditch effort. Leverkusen have scored more Bundesliga goals against Gladbach than they have against any other side. They really do like to play against their near neighbours. That's a fairly simple one for Kovac. Good little spell from Gladbach. Alvedi offside perhaps. He wants the shot. He's taken it. It's not been dealt with brilliantly by Kovac. Wurz, we know he can go through five or six players if he feels like it. Not an easy collect though for Moritz Niklas. Nearly 40 minutes have gone. I think it's a good game to watch. Leverkusen are trying everything. Grimaldo can hit them from distance and he puts some curl on that. He gets fabulous topspin on his shots. So smooth, so fluid. Ingenious. Hofmann into the arms of Niklas. And a play through for Jordan. That's a great header. Now Florian Wurz. He's got Frimpong. Jeremy Frimpong shoots wide. Pong wants it. Oh, great takedown. First touch was super. Now roses lines. Good first touches from Nathan Teller. Schick looking for room. Looking for Hofmann. Eight through. Handback defence. They stand like oak trees. Florian Wurz with the corner. Oh, it's a good one. Schick. Oh, there's Teller. And he didn't finish. And that's been the story of Leverkusen today. That would be something too. Former foul. Scoring. Seconds of this game. Header is an easy catch. Klosek. They need something and they need something big. That's not it. It's all over.
