(Laliga 2023/2024): Highlights ATLÉTICO MADRID - RAYO VALLECANO

18 years old and a player that we've already seen a little bit of this season in the Champions League scoring against Barcelona for Royal Antwerp last season and this season yet to score. The matchday referee is Cesar Suarez. Memphis ahead of him, he tries to find Sowell, does find Sowell, the cross floated to the edge of the six-yard box, drops to Memphis, turns and shoots and over the top but that's a chance for Atletico Madrid, perhaps their best. Atletico Madrid is laid off by Memphis, nicely done by Pablo Barrios and he's found Sowell who finds Vemiran, Vemiran to Memphis, good football from Atletico Madrid, out to Llorente, Llorente wins the header, Correa with a chance here, not too much in the way of support unless he waits for someone, in the end he didn't, he went for goal, it was blocked by Memphis, slides that through to Correa and Correa around the goalkeeper, can he get the shot away? He can, it's cleared off the line though, well Atletico players, I'm not sure if they are claiming it across the line, Lejeune made the block, they deal with this free kick, Riquelme takes it, up goes Ranildo, it's down and into the back of the net, that's his first goal for the club, back up, they've missed him, they expected him, and whilst it's true he has a handful of Lejeune's shirt, I think is it, is it Palazón, nice pass from him, the cross comes to Álvaro, Álvaro with a shot into the corner and Rayo Vallecano respond in stunning fashion, Álvaro García gets the goal, it's his fifth of the season and Old Black, De Paul tried to play that back to Hermoso and it was nicked away from by Álvaro, Álvaro over the top of Old Black, that was the plan anyway, he's a presence in the Atletico penalty area, the corner comes in, it's headed away by Barrios and on the attack De Frutos, he hits his shot, it rebounds out to the substitute and it might be turned into the back post by Trejo, but in the end it runs, Rayo in a line on the edge of their penalty area, Griezmann heads that one down to Molina, Griezmann with a cross, Memphis attacking, the ball has gone in and this time it will count, it's the last minute of the game and it's Memphis Depay who gets the goal, the referee surrounded but Atletico players celebrate, yeah it strikes again, they're sorry, sorry Peter, I think just before the move, sending off that will be for Rayo, member of the coaching staff, it moves them a little bit closer to the top of the table and despite an excellent away performance from Rayo Guillem, Atletico just about deserved it, yeah if Rayo Vallecano had been a little bit more efficient but that's all
