Zoe Suggs and Alfie "Pointless Blog" Deyes, the british youtubers power couple of YouTube. What happened to Zoella? What happened to Alfie Deyes? Today we dive into the rise and fall of Alfie and Zoella and the british youtubers power couple.
Zoella (Zoe Sugg) and Alfie Deyes emerged as YouTube sensations in the early 2010s, gaining millions of followers with content centered around beauty, fashion, and lifestyle for Zoella, and "PointlessBlog" for Alfie. They became household names in the UK, securing book deals, product lines, and achieving substantial financial success. The pair's relationship and daily life became focal points of their content, enhancing their appeal.
However, the couple faced controversies. Zoella was criticized for her advent calendar’s high price and historical tweets, while Alfie faced backlash for insensitive comments and being out of touch with everyday struggles, particularly highlighted in his "Living on £1 for a day" video. Additionally, the advent of newer, diverse content creators led to shifting viewer preferences.
Despite the challenges, both creators continue to have a significant online presence, but with a reduced spotlight compared to their peak popularity. They've adapted by focusing on family content, following the birth of their child, and engaging in various business ventures, showing a resilience and ability to evolve with the changing digital landscape.

come on streamline back to the mid 2010s
when YouTube British YouTubers were
dominating the platform the power couple
of zura at Alfie days were all over the
Internet
blasting their entire lifestyle content
into your face so why don't we Deep dive
into each of these and why they're not
around so much these days the British
YouTuber scene included lots of people
that smashed onto the scene based on
their their accent their quirkiness and
the britishness in the mid-2010s people
like Emma blackery Terry Wallace Alex
Day Carrie Hope Fletcher Charlie is so
cool like Zoella Joe Suggs Alfie days
that entire click and many other for
that matter zawanna and Alfie became the
power couple that everybody liked to
follow zoanna initially gained Fame
through her beauty and lifestyle videos
eventually expanding into other types of
content including book clubs and mental
health discussions signed a book deal I
released several titles including the
popular again online series Zoella
continued to sell merchandising
launching her own Beauty and lifestyle
products that were widely available in
stores throughout the UK and she
collaborated with well-known YouTubers
and Brands expanding their audiences and
influencers she set it up she got a
brand she continued to sell
what can go wrong well with this she
fostered a relationship with her fans
where she would generate a product or a
service and would then push it towards
them so he faced controversies including
scandals related to her Advent calendar
and all tweets which were deemed
offensive now the Advent calendar was
effectively loads of low-priced kind of
makeup content that was pushed into an
advent calendar and then priced up
accordingly sold to her younger easily
influenced demographic followers of her
Channel and this got slammed and she
weren't the only one that did this at
the time it was seen that she could push
her influence her experience towards
this demographic and she could generate
income in return maybe team up with some
other company and nothing ever dies on
the internet so any tweets that she may
have made Five Ten Years prior could
also be found and dug through and this
is when Council culture started to rear
its ugly head for the first time she
shifted her confidence towards more
mature like motherhood and Home Decor
content some fans found this alienated
themselves and that they started to drop
off the problem with YouTube is that
your videos stay there forever
continuing to attract the demographic
that they always did so as you age up
your audience might not or in return you
might continue to create content that is
solely for kids and that initial
audience that made you famous and made
you money by age out of you and then
they're gone Alfie days on the other
hand initially known for his Vlog
Channel PointlessBlog where he posts
challenges tags and daily life videos he
too launched a book and ventured into
merchandise and collaborated with
well-known YouTubers including Zoella
herself the problem here is that Alfie
bumped up against criticism that he was
out of touch with his audience he
published a video where he tried to live
on a pound a day which was viewed as
insensitive because unfortunately within
the UK some people truly have to budget
the extreme this man that has all of
this money
stepping into to the shoes of someone
that a factory has 30 pounds a month to
feed themselves it's seemed as a
disconnect from his audience this power
couple Zoella and Alfie gained
additional followers due to their
relationship the idea is that they could
both Vlog between each other share their
audiences they could bring in their
brother Joe as well to do the same thing
Joe who's recently gone on to mainstream
like success going onto Don's
competitions and just being known around
the world this was a hot pot of just
YouTube British influencers sharing
their audiences between themselves
growing this notoriety a bubble that did
really really well until it popped and
dissolved and the whole British
community of YouTubers just kind of
faded away they're still around they're
just not so clicky anymore with the
joint business ventures that they put
together including shared merchandise
and product lines they Barrel towards
the future of their life as they grew
older this led to Life Changes
navigating Life Changes together
purchasing a home having a child and
they shared this all With Their audience
all with varying degrees of success the
problem here happens to be is that
sometimes you can catch lightning in a
bottle the right demographic at the
right time people can watch a YouTube
channel for three four years and still
kind of associate with it but sooner or
later one of you is going to make a vast
life change and that might disconnect
you from that symbiotic relationship and
no longer are you interested so well at
our feet were the power couple but
nowadays people have forgot about them
because they're just not pushed as much
on the YouTube feed
