The thunder 2000 extended range rocket program, code-named "Leisheng project", has finally entered the initial firing test of the whole vehicle of the launcher. It is pointed out that previously, the extended range rocket was put on the launcher and fixed on the ground to test the effectiveness of the rocket.Starting from April 2022, the Taiwan Army plans to integrate 3 launchers borrowed by the Army to conduct full-vehicle firing test.As the range of the extended missile is 70 km, the missile body is longer than the original rocket, so the length of the vehicle will be increased by 30 cm to meet the installation of the launcher. Meanwhile, the operation mode of the oil pressure hanger in the middle section of the launcher will be changed to meet the specifications of the new bomb box.
The Taiwan Thunder 2000 multiple rocket system has a range of 15, 30 and 45 kilometers, depending on the type of rocket projectile. Due to the increase in the range of multiple rocket systems of various countries including the US army, tactical missiles can be configured at the same time.So in late January 2018, the Chinese Academy of Sciences began developing an extended range version of the Thunder 2000 multiple rocket system, hoping to complete the development in three years.These include long-range rocket systems with ranges of more than 100km and tactical missile systems with ranges of up to 200km, similar to the US ATACMS.

灣研發己超過3年，代號“雷升專案”的雷霆2000增程火箭彈計劃，終於進入發射車全車裝備的初期射擊驗測，據指出，之前增程火箭彈都是放在發射架固定在地面進行火箭彈射擊來驗測各項效能。從2022年4月起臺軍規劃整合3輛由陸軍借來的發射車進行全車射擊驗測；因增程彈射程爲70公里，彈體比原有火箭彈要長，因此整車將載臺長度增加30公分，以符合發射架的安裝，同時也改變發射車中間段的油壓吊杆操作方式，來符合新彈箱的規範。
臺灣雷霆2000型多管火箭系統，依火箭彈彈種不同，射程分別爲15、30及45公里，由於包括美軍在內，各國的多管火箭系統都走向射程增加，同時可配置戰術飛彈。因此在2018年1月下旬，中科院開始研製雷霆2000多管火箭系統的增程型，希望在三年完成研發工作。這些包括射程超過100公里遠程火箭系統，以及射程達200公里級、類似美國ATACMS的戰術飛彈系統。
