It's been a hard couple years of what do we go to the theater? Yes for and Take the kids out and watch I mean even us like what do we want to actually get in the car? Drive to the theater pay for the tickets pay for the popcorn. I make really good popcorn at home But what are we gonna go through all that effort for to go see in the theaters? But we love going we do love it. It's so awesome And so when we saw the trailer for this we were like, oh, please Please be please be decent. Please be decent because it's not as we do deal with a lot of Different variables with films these days. Yeah Because it used to be When I was growing up, it was like, okay G rated PG PG 13 Are you you kind of knew you know what you were getting into right? It was I think it was probably a lot easier for my parents to decide Okay, we're gonna take the kids to go and see this PG movie You know or a G movie and we'll probably not do the rated-r. I think PG 13 actually came out I think I recall Peach PG actually came out. I think in the late 80s PG 13 sorry PG 13. So there's a lot I think it was a lot easier though to because it was more from the standpoint of you know, what is gonna be appropriate for for kids the content and Nowadays it's like it just seems to be kind of like all over the place. It's like well, you know Is there gonna be some sort of like kind of? gay character Referenced in this PG or G rated movie that I might not want to be having that conversation with my kids yet And so I don't know and so when we saw the previews for this We were hoping that this would be a fun movie for the kids to go to. Yeah. Yeah, we were really curious I think it was funny We were watching Looney Tunes with the kids recently and on Amazon and it's got the little ratings that come up on there and it was PG 13. Yes for violence and Some different things and I was just like are you kidding me? But yeah, then you watch these Well, you're Yosemite Sam, you know comes out both guns blazing And so I I don't know that we use the rating system too much in our house no, no, it's kind of become laughable Well, the kids have really actually been enjoying watching the Dick Van Dyke show and we enjoy it, too It's I love the Dick Van Dyke show And it's hilarious. It's it's really funny. If you've not watched the Dick Van Dyke show, it's on freebie I just go watch just just go binge just go binge Dick Van Dyke I'm just gonna say his first name because that would be that would be weird. But anyway But anyway, but go binge it and it's a lot of fun and the kids enjoy it But it's interesting because you'll see those those ratings pop up and all of a sudden It's like it's PG 13 for a Dick Van Dyke episode because they just happen to be smoking. You're just like wow Wow, I didn't realize that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's not I think I even actually saw it on a little house on the prairie episode with PG 13. Mm-hmm you're like there there's stuff that's out there right now that's targeting kids, you know, and They put it at PG 13 so they can get a broader audience watch right, but I'm like, this is not okay This is highly inappropriate who's reading these things and why yeah, anyway, anyway, we got past like going Hey, what's it rated? Let's take the kids take the kids If it's inappropriate anything we can walk out of the theater and you know chalk up the loss But it was quite delightful. Yeah, I felt like it was, um, you know having grown up watching Willy Wonka Gene Wilder with Gene Wilder Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and then yep, and then this one I think they were all very different and you could enjoy them as their own film But then also knowing some of the stories you can also kind of enjoy it as a trilogy esque. Well, and it's done well It's actually blown up overseas Here in America, it's done a little bit less than 200 million dollars, which is nothing to shake a stick at but overseas It's done over 300 million dollars.
