Camp Louis Routh | Abandoned Detention Center for Delinquent Minors

what's going on everybody welcome back to 99 adventures today we're at a youth fire prison camp so basically juvenile hall um this place was a fire camp for the youth so basically let's say if you know somebody under the age of 18 got arrested to go to juvenile hall right this isn't their first stop this is the place that they would send them if they thought they could be rehabilitated and uh maybe give them a good outlook on life so they sent them here taught them how to be firefighters if you didn't make it if you're mounting off if you were just being an overall jackass they sent sending back to regular jubilee something like uh i think challenger challenger camp or challenger facility out in lancaster was the closest one to this place um but yeah this is a pretty awesome place guys so before we get started just hit the like [Music] button [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so last night before coming out here i was doing a lot of research on this place and uh real quick shout out to uh exploring with nick i would have known about this place if he didn't make his videos so i'll leave a link in the description down to his video um go check him out let him know 909 from 999 adventures had uh sent you guys i mean as you can see this place is already burnt out there's really not much left here to see other than the skeletons of the buildings that are already pretty much burnt so we already got a burnt building right there so i mean this place is pretty well known if you know what it is i just noticed there's a basketball court right there see you guys see it right there let's take a basketball court but we're gonna we're looking forward to checking everything out here hopefully we have enough time to check it all out let's go check this out first because it's the building we're standing in front of not really sure what this was look at this guys wow it's kind of colorful not that great but you could definitely smell the the fire from the buildings that are burnt down here lots of ventilation check it out got a desk here this is probably like maybe where they ate lunch or something yeah you could definitely see like maybe somebody was sitting here just keeping an eye on the inmates oh yeah there you go this is probably where they came and took all their tests to be there the firefighters that they hopefully turned into what does that say okay so we're definitely finding a date here guys 2009 seems to be the uh the magic number as you can see there look guys you get your ged here and everything careers start a career here train your punk asses into well i don't know what's going with that but turn your punk asses into something good right [Applause] oh these were the showers you tell the drains so this is just just a bathroom i don't know this is a little barbaric to me i guess never been in jail but what do you think this was like a group shower is that a thing in jail is it really like how they say in the movies i'm assuming this would be like where you'd wash your hands or something sinks are gone i don't know how stable this is but dang let's check it out last thing i want to do is go flying through the floor man this place is trashed it's nice and cool in here really wow so if you guys heard that brit said she just found a bunch of court records this place just tore up this is a what a bathroom shower oh yeah yeah no kidding yeah i don't want to bring that old stuff up there you guys look at this there's a lot of asbestos in there this was a bathroom but this is more of an administrative building so it's probably more like an employee bathroom than the bathroom for the inmates should really have mashed up for this but you know they just really destroyed this place it's old uh air conditioner cover like one that you'd find in a lot of cheap hotels just uh closet you got a blank uh certificate paper right there yeah this is crazy off the desk guys check that out it's gonna be a good picture right there there's another desk destroyed trying to walk real lightly just because a lot of a lot of asbestos on the floor old metal desk i didn't realize that doorway was in that that room oh look you guys come get your cover 19 tester this is kind of repetitive rooms same thing after the other yeah so i'm thinking 2009 i found so much paperwork 2009 nothing after that and only before it hey guys check this out you really have a feeling that this was like a a village more than a prison or not a prison you know juvenile hall whatever fire camp other than the uh fact for the chain link fence which is very minimal and the barbed wire you would think this is like a little village all right so it looks like you can get under that building that we're just in not that long ago whacked so those must been like the living quarters look at there's like a kitchen type thing maybe a kitchenette what do you guys think i don't know so and that's as far as that goes back that's crazy though don't know what i was expecting but i guess i wasn't expecting this to be under here everything looks all caved in further down and check it we're gonna check these buildings out see if you guys can see that oops that's what we're doing this is about the uh the other half that's left we just came out of that building right there it was kind of repetitive i mean it's like the biggest building here but it's a lot of offices a lot of asbestos too but uh let's check here nothing very much in this building either as you can see you can tell this is like maybe a check-in window or something come here to check out your uh your gear for the day maybe kind of stage up in here just a little storage closet not much to see very cool though what look at that this must have been like the bunks or something where they uh they slept it's crazy can you imagine have a sleep here no thank you all right so this looks like another spot where they would have uh slept maybe this looks like it was just pushed here so this is probably maybe um not here maybe right there damn this is crazy i mean there's so much here you almost don't even know where to begin or where to finish there's not much left i have a feeling this is going to be a long video or maybe there'll be two parts we'll go back and check this hole in the the ceiling off real quick what's holding the ceiling what what is this oh you know it's probably the ac unit now i was saying we'll go and check this uh hole in the ceiling real quick oh look it refrigerator had been refrigerator yeah that's what this was insulated yep so this was probably their uh their mess hall the kitchen the cafeteria probably line up over there grab your food somewhere right around here then take it in there and probably eat let's look at this real quick though dang it's all tore up looks like it exploded honestly look it you still got a uh a bunk bunk pad wow that looks real comfortable maybe if i get caught trespassing in here maybe they can let me take that with me huh dang i just hope i'm doing a good job filming this you know if you guys think i'm doing a good job please leave a like and also comment say hello let me know what you think of this video if you don't let me know what you think at least just say hello let's interact somewhat guys oh so you know if this is attached to the kitchen did you know what this probably was this is probably a pantry it just hit me because nobody's gonna sleep in the mess hall or the kitchen whatever you guys want to call it so this was a pantry we'll just call it that see that's another reason why i don't do a lot of um investigating before i come out to a place i like to have the place come and you know speak to me speak to us and tell us what it is instead of you know looking at like a old blueprint to a building or you know i think it's a lot funner to come and explore and figure things out for ourselves i'll take my sunglasses up here so i can actually see what i'm doing sorry panned down a little bit this place is a little creaky of course we gotta see oh that was a shower if you guys can tell and in the end another shower hot water heater strap so that was uh oh so this was just all showers then he had a single wide mobile home dedicated to just showers cool do you think this was a shower no not this one or that one so two offices and uh shower the two offices and three showers sorry see if i can get down here without stepping look at that's where i gotta jump down so i really don't see a good spot to jump down don't want a nail to go through my shoe so see we can do it yes no nail made it all right oh i smell fresh paint and that's here it's actually not too bad of a piece that's all that's in here what do you think this is it's an old cabinet i thought this floor felt kind of funny there's still carpet in here you guys see that carpet all right just for the sake of time guys i might thought i heard something just a car but just for the sake of time i'm gonna kind of start scooting through this a little bit faster if you guys don't mind well i guess i won't know until uh somebody leaves a comment says hey i'm going too fast man i'm unsubscribing um this looks kind of sketchy see what we got going on in here wow this one's pretty bad in here i don't know what that is though what was this guys i mean i don't know handles maybe this is where they stored the equipment at night maybe i don't know untouched fresh paint or fresh paint should i say blank canvas see what we got going on in here nothing storage shed it's got that same funky smell at the uh that other building had hmm which way to go all right guys so i can only assume this was a garage maybe they have a fire truck here i don't know but uh as you can see there's a big driveway this thing's wide enough to pull in maybe a standard car in here standard truck it's maybe not a fire truck but you know like a small van or something all right so here's a maybe another garage type thing i don't know i don't think you'd be able to fit a car or anything like that in here maybe it's like where they kept the landscaping equipment i don't know your guess is as good as mine uh another good reason to comment let me know what you guys think it is i'm gonna go check that one out now all right you can see you guys can see there's not much in this one oh look it's still got the uh so this is like their tool shed or something because they got blocks nails drywall stucco it's all still labeled pvc so there's a repair that needed to be done here you come here all right guys that's going to just about do it for this episode if you like this guys please go down and give me a big thumbs up also comment just say hello guys that's all you have to do if you don't want to mention anything about the video just say hello i want to get to know you guys i want to hear from you and uh also go check out exploring with nick um like i said he he does some pretty awesome spots so if you guys like my channel definitely like his and uh make sure you subscribe to both of our channels and uh let us know what you think see you guys later [Music] bartender coors light please
