Recued Cat Update and Morning Feeding/Treats for our Animals

[Music] Snow's kind of crunchy crunchy uh Mark here my wife Tara and welcome to the 10 Acre Woods uh it's warming up I guess that means Spring's coming right maybe uh maybe the uh what is that the uh the Alberta Clipper I think is maybe that's what it is apparently everybody everybody else is really cold and they complaining and getting snow that never got no before and we like FL uh was that Florida or uh Texas Florida I think yeah Florida we haven't even like this is like nothing this winter like even though it's cold it's not normally it's normally colder yeah yeah so that's what I was saying in the last video for sure so we have uh well there's yeah some bird print I guess here there are some cat prints here I was checking the the uh the footage from the the camera here just to get an idea to see you know what animals uh are wandering around and what I found was uh early in the morning I think around 4:00 a.m. there was a fox uh that came through and and uh went over here you can see his Prince here uh he came out and hopped out from the snowbank here and then went back over in that direction and then uh around 700 a.m. and again at about 8:30 uh a black well we thought it was a black cat I just saw it on low resolution on the uh the camera on my phone so I went and uh checked out the footage uh at higher resolution and it's it's actually a tabby cat so not black it's not not another black one that would make 10 just looking at my my uh my hood here Tera is going to uh replace the fluff on it um it's this jacket uh was my father's military jacket uh and on the inside it has the date on when it was issued to him uh which was 1984 so this jacket is 40 years old uh but extremely warm like it is uh it's you can't beat it so uh anyway tera's going to get started here without me she's already got the water and everybody's literally lined up for food wellow except for Billy Billy is uh over eating leftovers if I shock myself you're going to get it yeah yeah Levi will get it too [Applause] Meadow's like where's the rest hi girl hi look at how fuzzy you are yeah well next week it warms up to like zero too yeah yeah it's going to be uh refill the hay right around the freezing Mark so perfect timing yeah late late January I was going to say February I'm getting ahead of myself oo chaos good morning [Music] boys yeah these guys will be itching to get out onto the pond yeah all right so we're just going to fill up the uh the feeder and this is uh this is the mixture of barley and wheat correct y Yeah I broke the door oh what that oh that one oh oh the lock I see it oh well we'll fix that ah fresh grains I'll do most of it when it's warmer yeah next week right next week next week I'll fill them right up yeah and and hopefully it'll warm up enough in here that I we'll be able to chip away some of that uh that frozen poop the poop cicles and this is of course where we store our grain which we haven't really tapped had to tap in that much yeah just a little bit so it's uh it's filled up I think about 2/3 but that's a year's supply in stor right yeah so that's great you know it's in case the case we get a drought so uh I don't know if you heard I these are uh these are the wings of pigeons we've lost due to cats yeah um so we're going to preserve the wings yeah yeah yeah they're kind of they're really neat they're like little angel wings I think I dry them with epsin or uh borax or that probably that silica gel would I was thinking yeah uh that silica gel that you do flowers with yeah silica sand that's it Sil sand sand or Zilla beads yeah it's a bead type yeah it seems pretty humid in here yeah yeah so that's all frosted up there and what do we at for temperature next week we might need a fan it's not that warm cuzz the water is freezing yeah it's right at 0° right at the freezer Point yeah cuz the water was freezing oh did you put cocoa in here no is that oh that I'm like I'm like that looks like okay yeah I didn't realize Tom looked like Coco from the front I was like did you get a girlfriend no how you doing buddy are you getting more friendly more calm n he's just wanting food didn't you get oh maybe Mom didn't give you food hey so he is um he's going to be going back well he's had to going back and being adopted out yeah he needs to be fixed first so the idea was that he was possibly going to go back to his original Farm no not the original not the original no the people that friends of theirs yeah okay yeah because they can't have animals on their acreage which is kind of silly well no they took them back from a friend who they got it for them and so they took him back they can't have uh animals where they are but they live in the country which is ridiculous okay so it's more complicated than I first more complicated than I first thought yeah a lot of them are and but he does possibly have an adopted friend through that we know which would be an awesome home well Tails coming in nicely getting ready for the spring season there only one female rabbit can you spot it should be pretty easy I know but is that your house no it's a chicken head who's uh is that a root no we don't have a rooster in here do we no well yeah but no it's a rabbit oh oh over there it's a chicken Edgar is under here that's my house chickens are laying again look at that good nice chicken egg let get a guinea we got to start eating more eggs um oh uh I brought this out uh so one of the companies that have sent us stuff is oite I'll go grab a hay bale and they actually make knives uh so it's called o knife of course okay let's see show us oh oh how sharp is it it's very uh smooth very smooth yeah so they also sent us a hatchet yes exced to use that really wild Hatchet so I'm oh I'm sure it'll just cut like butter well and it's extremely extremely light well they use all the you know military grade uh aircraft aluminum forged in the got the nice in Mordor all those things so yeah somebody's at this door I don't know is Marlene coming today it's probably the uh the sound coming through from the air vent you know the pigeons wander on that yeah so uh yeah so the hatchet um well we'll try that out when it's warmer outside I guess the case will get lost uh but I'll throw a I'll throw a link down in the description for that if you want to have a look yeah Tara is a uh she's she loves knives reinforcement up because he is apparently a jumper so we didn't want him to try to jump out and and hurt himself so we kind of Clos things in a bit not coming Charlie oh Charlie Charlie oh Charlie extremely cold snaps we give them an abundance of hay so they can lie in it sleep while they eat yeah nothing like uh just relaxing during a cold Winter's day right oh they're probably they're probably Marlene hasn't been here with treats since last year since December right so that could be like they've got hay there's hay there hi turbo they've got hay but they're like well where is you know how do they know what day of the week it is well or that it's been a while cuz last weekend I think they did the same thing even Moana she's like yeah where's marleene we need our treats or they're waiting for their pumpkins we're almost done pumpkin which is treats which I usually like the pumpkins to last all of uh over the winter cuz it's thiry warming yeah especially the seeds yeah se de warmer you can see there they uh I can never remember the chemical that's in it they quite enjoy the seed oh hi there's Coco see looks the same well I guess Coco's got a little white spot on her head but that just threw me for a loop I'm like why is Coco in there oh right ttom is all brown in the front okay oh Jasper no competitions hey all right there you go as soon as you come in hey as soon as you come in oh the guinea well I guess they don't like a deep voice or a different voice oh girls and some boys what what do I have to talk softly oh yeah maybe I just come in here and talk at a higher pit hi girls how are you hi are we good just one oh that's that's nice oh very nice oh good oh it's so quiet now I guess that's what I have to do is just talk hey you up there hey pretty one I don't know yeah well they do that when there's danger you know they're they're sensing danger and they're alerting everybody else I guess I just have to learn to speak more gently to the animals so glad I built this shelf which uh oh this one here yeah it's it's heavy duty organization yeah it's all corn all dry or litter yeah but I need my pen so I can remark the container yeah cuz some of them are like that's not kelp there no kelp yeah no finding kelp is very hard it's good for them but it's very hard to find yeah protein so it's a good protein Source a kelp and which is a a seaweed yeah um and then what's the other one uh we used it was kelp and O kelp oyster shell well that's the calcium uh uh fish meal fish meal yeah it was fish meal so and we got that from somebody was weren't they on the East Coast or they had a contact or a sister on the East Coast well no they had a contact there and she car carried it here but she's passed so we were just coming out and guess what marleene arrived I guess she was getting her times mixed up we're doing uh we're doing 9:30 in the morning is usually when feeding happens so the animals are uh pretty excited so why don't we just cut into a nice Montage here of [Music] [Music] treats [Music] [Applause] [Music] I [Music] he [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay [Music] [Applause] [Music] so we're back in the house uh marleene has just left she brings treats for not only the animals uh but she brings treats for us as well so she brought us some uh uh they're over there some cinnamon rolls and and some cookies uh we had a coffee had some treats uh and then she headed off home uh so cat update so of course those of you who uh haven't been following us uh we have nine rescued black cats here in the house uh three of them uh are in Tiana's room and over the last um over the last few weeks anyway we've been opening up T an's door at night uh to let them kind of migrate out and wander around uh so we also do have where is she over checking out the kitty litter probably no oh there he is he went around and of the cats that uh the 50 cats that we posted about needing homes and stuff so believe five are confirmed and kind five are confirmed homes found yeah and uh 10 more in the process so not all 29 not all 29 came forward in the end but uh keep working hard and I made I think I made 150 cat toys yeah so if you're in the area and you're looking to um take on a kitten or two um please let us know or an adult you know like that just needs a safe SP kitten I just call they're all kittens right they're all cats they're all fur babies you know like we have our tiar you know he's just got a safe spot to to kind of coook yeah so we do have two dogs as well um and what we've been doing is Toby which is the one here at my feet Toby yeah that's you you're dirty um he goes into his kennel at night H which is right over there and then Maggie usually just hangs out around um we had a problem with Toby peeing at night didn't we he loves his kennel yeah but he loves his kennel you know you just open it up and you you say it's bedtime and away he goes um so Maggie has been sleeping with us while we leave the door open just to make sure there's no issues uh between Kine and Feline so uh Kota which actually we're were thinking kot's the oldest so I think he was eight when he came in yeah and uh we think he was probably dropped off city and we live 30 km from the city so so yeah so that was uh just before co uh so 4 years ago and he was eight so he's 12 and we figure he's probably the oldest one right are you the wisest yeah because who would be next tier tier I think is about six and it's funny we were just talking this morning about it we all have kind of our own cats or our cats have their own whoops that didn't work okay you could have gotten that on video [Music] he totally missed I think I did he totally missed the because it moved well because this moved um so Kota and well NX has two um NX has Tiana and terara but um Kota usually goes and hangs out with Tara but not me so much um now the ones that hang out with me are these two Sleeping Beauties over here uh which is anara anara where's your head there you are good morning or good afternoon so anara which is the mom or narar Ria hi hi Ria how you doing are you sleeping you taking your brother's spot so Lucifer I'm not sure where Lucifer is oh is he okay Tiana just said downstairs he's uh sleeping above oh is he in there oh he is in there too he's in there tier tier was three years ago he loves the big teddy bear look at how cozy you look hey bud you don't want to get too close cuz then he just runs away and he's his eyes are just barely actually they're not even open why do you keep a giant teddy bear on the couch tar likes it yeah cuz it's tier's little place well that's that's that's their kind of like spot yeah and then NYX hi NYX you got a bright background there I can't really see you hey just look for the void yeah look for the void here let me turn up turn up some exposure there there we go now we can see you I'm guessing Aurora is under underneath the couch right below you is Aurora actually out Tiana do how many casts did you count in your room this morning there's Maggie I think Aurora because the both dogs just had their nose there oh so yeah so um Aurora Aurora and zorya were underneath this couch we think uh yesterday so I set up a camera uh at the end of the hall at Tiana's door um the other night last night so that we could just find out you know what goes on at night with the cats um so I will play I will play the whole little Montage there at the end of this video there's Zia hi we know what you do at night Sor so she's been doing really well um she is um she's a little skittish um but she's really coming around well aren't you and then other kennel oh oh in the other kennel oh okay and that is arrows is that arrows should be I don't know it's really tough arrows hasn't left my room yet yeah it's really tough between the two between Aurora and arrows arrows is larger and um Toby yeah it uh okay well we're gonna have to get some distinguishing marks once they come out we'll be able to uh so there's a little bit of white on the chest it looks like a little bit of a Mane so about this little fluffy thing here hey yes okay so Tiana's a little workstation here and hi Lucifer you have your own little bed up there hey silly boy so yeah Tiana often has uh has a friend watching over her as she's on her computer so uh that is it for this video I will play the
