Why is Shen Yun Banned in China?

today we're going to talk about why Shin Yun is banned in China my name is William Lee I'm a principal dancer with Shin Yun and let's talk about it for thousands of years the Chinese people have been very spiritual and spirituality and faith is really the backbone of Chinese civilization the Chinese people believed in the Divine and they always believed that they had to cultivate character and watched out for their morality and to constantly improve upon it now everything changed in 1949 because that's when the Chinese com Communist Party came into power in China they viewed the spirituality and Faith of ancient Chinese people as a threat to their ideology the CCP didn't want the people to have their own faith and belief because they only wanted them to believe in the CCP and they try to instill Marxism in the people now you might be wondering what does all of this have to do with Shen Yun and we're getting to it in the 9s a spiritual practice called Fallen gong or Fallen dafa became very popular in China Millions ions of people were practicing these people believe in the principles of truthfulness compassion and forbearance this spiritual practice is rooted in the same traditional culture that the CCP was trying to destroy that was a problem for the CCP in 1999 the CCP banned the practice of Fallen gong and Fallon dafa in China it was very horrific and many family members were torn apart people were thrown into prison and persecuted for their faith and belief that's when a group of persecuted arti came to America where there is freedom of speech and freedom of belief they founded the company Shen Yun now Shen Yun is very very successful and is a company that everyone knows all over the world what's really amazing is that shenyun is not only preserving their own faith but they're also Reviving 5,000 years of authentic traditional Chinese culture and what's amazing about shenyun is that it became a global phenomenon audience enjoy the performance they love it and everyone knows about about it and shenyun is not just helping to preserve their own faith but it's also a center for bringing back this traditional culture and sharing it with the world every year when we're on the road and Performing we still are met with a lot of interference from the CCP the CCP is constantly trying to interfere with our performances there are over 100 documented cases of sabotage harassment and disinformation targeting shenyun to give you an idea of what they've done here are some examples the FBI arrested two CCP agents for bribery schemes in Orange County targeting Shen Yun and these two men are in jail right now this is in little rocks Robinson Center Music Hall the Houston Chinese consulant sent a 133-page letter convincing the theater why they shouldn't let shenyun perform this is what the Little Rock convention burough Chief responded with I'm proud to have shenyun perform here the Chinese Consulate in Fort Lauderdale sent a letter to the mayor telling him that his personal reputation would be on the line if he sent supportive letters to Shin Yun they've also sent numerous emails and letters to theaters and government officials impersonating Fallen gone practitioners genuine artists and saying crazy things so why is the CCP so afraid of Shen Yun it's because after the audience watch Shen Yun they realize a few things first of all Shen Yun is presenting authentic traditional culture that it's so profound and Rich there's so much that you can learn from it second they also learned that the CCP is trying to destroy this authentic traditional culture and third Shin Yun is also exposing the ccp's persecution of Fallen gong they realize that Fallon practitioners are good people who are following principles such as truthfulness compassion and forbearance so Shin Yun is really revealing the truth to the people exposing the lies that the CCP have been feeding the Chinese people and the people all over the world to this day China is still spreading propaganda and disinformation about Shen Yun of course they say a lot of bad things about about us unfortunately some Western media have also picked up this disinformation and they spread it because they might not know better however shun is really a story of Hope 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture was almost destroyed under the CCP this group of artists came to America and they were able to revive it that's why shenyun is really so popular nowadays they're bring something that is truly wonderful and great to the people what the CCP is doing is obviously not working all right if you want to learn more of about us you can go to shenyun.com and our touring season has already started so check out if we're at a city near you because I think the performance is really worth watching and if you enjoy our content please like And subscribe and we'll see you guys next [Music] time
