Grilling is the most primal experience you can have.
I started grilling when I was living in my apartment in New York City in 1992.
So I think it was from that moment that I was hit with this sky grilling bug.
Because since then I've had barbecues in Hong Kong, in Shanghai and here now in Singapore.
I'm pretty flexible when it comes to grilling.
I can do experimental things or I can go back to basics
like some of the good old Worcestershire steak from my hometown.
I love charcoal grilling because the whole process is a real experience in itself.
From watching the meat slowly cook to enjoying how well the slightly charred
taste of the meat goes down with a nice cold beer.
In fact I used to despise the idea of gas grills entirely.
But after giving it a go I have to admit I'm a changed man.
The flexibility and convenience of the gas grill means
I've got lots more opportunities to be on the grill and not annoy the neighbours
with the smoke and the inconvenience that sometimes charcoal can give you.
What surprised me the most was that my meats still had that same deep smoky
taste that I've come to expect from Weber charcoal.
And I know my wife really appreciates it because she doesn't have to do so much cooking.
Using gas means I can just turn it on whenever I want.
Cook a steak for me, for my son or even host friends on short notice.
I guess that's why I was born to be a Sky Griller.
