House Democrats vote to reject Republican motion to ensure I-2113 receives prompt public hearing

Earlier today, House Democrats voted to reject a House Republican motion that would’ve allowed for a prompt public hearing on Initiative 2113 (police pursuits). House Republican Leader Drew Stokesbary delivered remarks, saying lawmakers have both a constitutional and moral responsibility to hold a public hearing and give a voice to the more than 430,000 Washingtonians who signed the initiative.
