The First Visit To The Farthest West State Park – Franklin Mountains State Park

We finally made it to Franklin Mountains State Park! WOW! What a fascinating place! We spent one night dry camping here on the return lag our Nevada Trip 2023.
Set high above El Paso Texas in the Franklin Mountains this Texas State Park is stunning! Although the facilities are about as basic as you can get in a Texas State Park that is not why you go.
There are many many miles of hiking and biking trails through out this stunning high desert state park. I personally was blown away by the panoramic vistas. At every point in the Franklin Mountains State Park there is a fantastic view.
The Night sky is another great reason to visit Franklin Mountains State Park! With the campground being about 2000 ft in elevation and being several miles from the urban lights the stars are very bright and on a clear desert night you can see billions of them!
