Trip to Italy Pompeii and Positano edition
Positano is a very beautiful part of Italy
But I think it's a little bit difficult to get to so we decided to just do a day trip from a bus tour
Positano is extremely picturesque. So the first thing we decided to do was take some time to take some photos
We were there on a cloudy day, but I think my pictures still came out nice. Here's a little blooper pic
We also paid a visit to a nearby church. These things are usually free in most places
Honestly, I don't think there's tons of things to do in Positano though
For me, all I mostly did was eat pictures and souvenirs
In my opinion Positano is more of a place where you relax and enjoy not somewhere you sightsee much
If you're someone who likes to explore a lot, I really think Positano is not really for you
You only need a few days probably
We visited Pompeii after that and Pompeii is extremely fascinating
These are the bodies frozen in time from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius
Weren't many remains other than the people and some things like bread like these
We learned a lot about the Italians and they also had an amphitheater
This is actually very similar to the Colosseum
They also had gladiators fighting beasts inside of the theater
It's crazy what they did for sport back then
We walked into a lot of homes in the old Pompeii
We learned a lot about their daily lives and I can't believe all of this preserved
They even have so much ruins left that they haven't unearthed yet
They actually lived in many ways similar to modern day
Here's an area where they serve a lot of soups kind of like a restaurant, but we also learned some primitive things about Italians, too
Apparently they knew pee had ammonia so they used that to cleanse themselves
Crazy, right?
We even visited a brothel in ancient Pompeii
Truly the world's oldest profession. They even had pictures on the walls of it. It's amazing
This has been preserved all this time
We found Pompeii to be extremely fascinating
Thinking back. I do think Pompeii was a little bit more interesting than Pasatano, but I enjoyed them both
