What you hear is Franz Schubert's Serenade in D minor, Ständchen D 957 No. 4 from "Schwanengesang".

"Schubert's "Ständchen" (text by Ludwig Rellstab) from his song cycle "Schwanengesang" is a nocturnal balcony serenade, a haunting love song, such as Romeo might have sung to Juliet or Cyrano to Roxanne on a balmy summer night. Schumann's dedication (text by Friedrich Rückert) opens the first of two volumes of his Opus 25, which he gave to his wife as a wedding present in 1841 under the title Myrihen.

It is a tribute to Clara Schumann:

"You are calm, you are peace, you are given to me by heaven".

The allure of clouds, in a range of greys from warm to cold, sometimes bathed in the golden hues of sunlight or shrouded in dark shadows as they cross the blue sky, never ceases to fascinate me. They remind me of the classical paintings of the old masters. Along with the enchanting rainbow, clouds are one of my favourite phenomena on the vast canvas of the sky.
