Final Garden Task For 2023 & A Very Delightful Surprise 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

hi everyone it's Janette here from enthusiastic Garder it's the very last Garden jobs video for this current year and I'm pleased about that because I need a rest and of course the one that I've left till the end is one of the more tedious jobs the leaf collecting and you can see from my garden there are a lot of leaves now last year I had a good idea and I thought I would collect all my leaves I red them all by hand no less put them all in great big green sacks in the hope that they would convert themselves magically into the most beautiful compost now I've stored them behind my cabin I honestly have not looked ever since in one whole year so we're going to do the grand reveal and see has it turned into beautiful compost or has it just been sitting there and they look just like they did a year ago so let's go and have a look at the leaves and how have they done in a whole year and if they are beautiful gorgeous mulchy compost then we will store these ones in in a bag as well so it's quite a treacherous Journey around to the back here we go here they are here are the bags of leaves oh my goodness actually actually look at that I'm surprised I thought that they were just going to look like today I've got them in and no this is lovely look at this it has worked it has worked I'm amazed what's it like down well oh gosh it has worked well that's fantastic that is fantastic news so I have two big bags of wonderful multi compost but all I did was put them here a year ago look at that that is going to be so good for my garden wow I am impressed that had given me such a boost you have no idea I really really did not expect that so now what I'm going to do is get some more green bags out of my shed get them ready because all everything that I pick up is going in those bags for next year and garden gold everyone so I'll have to get Richard to help me to bring those bags out of the way first cuz I suspect they're quite heavy and uh then I can put the new bags in there it's like a a new thing that I do here are my bags I think I ordered trick five yes these were from Amazon and so I'm going to open one up and start filling this up never will I throw away my leaves again that's for sure now this is made this job all the more exciting so so I think my tactics for this year is going to be I think I will leave all the leaves on the back flower bed keep them all there the trouble is they do blow around but I think over the winter I can collect them up in little bits and pieces but it's a mammoth task otherwise so I think what I'll do these beds all the way around the circle I'm going to rake them all into the grass area and then I can pick them all up put them in my green sack then I can do a similar thing over that side and then as the months of winter pass I can perhaps keep tidying up this area keep on top of it that [Music] way [Music] [Applause] okay [Music] a [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] pap [Music] oh my goodness it's hard work you do not need a gym membership when you're a gardener but it looks so much better there's still lots more leaves but uh a good really really good workout and a lot of people might say why don't you just get yourself a leaf blower well I've tried leaf blowers I just cannot get on with leaf blowers they just all go up in the air and then they all come back down again wherever they were in the first place but what I thought I could do is that wonderful mulch you can see I haven't really done the leaves at the back but all that wonderful mulch which is now or compost rather or mulch which is now behind my shed which I need to ask Richard whoops ask Richard to help me get it out I could put that over the back and cover up the existing leaves maybe that's an option we still have more to come that's I don't know what this tree is that's the last one I think it's the last one to get its leaves in the spring and then the last to lose its leaves and also have that one as well so goodness me but it looks so much better oh and I managed to collect a hole huge big bag of these leaves so that was good and I still have a couple more bags for everything else but that is why I don't like the leaves it's it's a a mammoth task and uh but anyway that is my last garden video for this calendar year but next week as promised I'm going to do the Christmas concerto I've been learning the piano since September and when I first told you about that I promised you that I would play you a tune so um yes and I so I'll do that next week that will be my very last video for this year I'll explain my thoughts of future for my channel the enthusiastic Gardener sorry about the banging um yeah explain my thoughts for the future and so please have a wonderful week I'm Janette I'm the enthusiastic Gardener thank you for joining me I'm exhausted going to go in for a nice rest now for the rest of the day Sunday have a great week and I'll see you next week for the Christmas conto take care everyone bye
