hi everyone it has been a little while
but I wanted to come and do a video for
you because it's
Christmas well hello everyone it's
Janette here enthusiastic Gardener it
has been a while I think I posted my
last proper
video um beginning of August and now
it's almost Christmas so thank you for
watching all the shorts I've been doing
little shorts which has been my way of
connecting with you and thank you for
commenting and everything so what I
thought for this video wait for the car
for this video we'll do four parts I
think and my gift to you no ads we're
not having any ads in this it's not
about making money it's about saying
hello and saying thank you so four parts
to this video first of all part one I'd
like to give you an update on Rich's
health I won't go into previous things
because hopefully you've seen those
videos about the heart attack and the
cardiac arrest and all that which is
just over one year ago actually so
that's going to be part one part two
we'll have a look at my December Garden
seeing as it's not raining today
although it is chilly it's 4° C 39 F so
but it's now winter so what do you
expect part three is going to be oh I
have exciting plans to share for the
future of my channel for next year well
I don't know the whole of the year I
don't know what's going to happen but I
do know what we're going to be doing
when we first come back you know late
winter early spring so I can tell you
that and that is very exciting and then
part four and don't worry it's not me
playing the piano again like I did last
year but it be a bit of CH Christmas
festivity so let's get straight into it
Richard's Health
now well we've had such such a
challenging year and after many scans
ultrasounds blood tests appointments
going private paying for
ourselves uh which which we are thankful
for all of that he has finally been
diagnosed he has seropositive
inflammatory rheumatoid
arthritis he hasn't even been able to
move his hands his wrists elbows and
then he has osteoarthritis in his
shoulders he can't raise his shoulders
and uh he's finally started medication
he started that last week he has to take
five tablets in one day and then because
they affect your liver you wait a whole
week for your liver to regenerate which
it does and then you take the following
week you take another five Etc and you
take another tablet in between that as
well plus he's on all his heart things
so he's he's rattling he really is
rattling bless him but he had to make
the decision well all year he was hoping
to go back to work he's plumbing and
heating engineer
but it's just impossible he sold his van
he's closing the business you know
stopped all the insurances that he needs
to pay and everything so that we've had
to accept that he's not going back to
work he can't lift boilers he can't
crawl under in Loft spaces he can't
twist under baths he can't carry you
know um sinks out anymore he can't do
all this Rippin things he can't do any
of that anymore so that's that he's not
working anymore yes
osteoarthritis rheumatoid arthritis it's
been a challenging year but do you know
what they say don't they and when you're
healthy you don't really listen but it's
so true your health is the most
important thing your health your friends
and your family and money means nothing
at the end of the day it it's very nice
of course but
but dropped my glasses and um yeah so
anyway we are
hopefully on the up it's challenging
challenging year but so many good
lessons have been learned and uh but
it's not been easy anyway let's get on
with part two let's have a look at my
garden in
December all of my ornaments and things
things are all packed away in
here
flamingos everything stored away for the
winter
and
yeah so Woodland cour yard is very bare
very bare indeed the lighting is not
that great oh do you know I have new
compost bins if you haven't watched my
shorts you won't know about my new
compost oh yes see lots has happened
that you you may not realize do you
remember I had two trees I had a Bay
Tree here I had Victoria Plum there
they've
gone they've gone oh lots of things have
happened that's the hibernaculum I don't
know if there's anything in
there the
hibernacle it's ready and waiting it's
very cold that's the pond needs a good
old clean out as you can see and then
this Pond here oh dear see
look oh dear that looks as if it's dying
doesn't it we have to come oh dear yeah
oh okay did not realize that anyway
anyway show you the Good the Bad and the
Ugly and the pond it's got
leaves I need to get my waiters on get
out
there everything's lost its leaves had a
good old clear up tidy up but we did
plant a load of tulic
bulbs so the daffodils were already in
there this is the Bay Tree which was
over by the circle and I moved it and
I'm so happy because I didn't get all
the roots and I had to cut some so I'm
so pleased this has been in a few months
it looks
fine and then we've got the container
garden trucky
carpus this is beautiful
Mahonia lovely lovely winter interest on
the
Mahonia very beautiful yep I've moved
things you can see my Willow my braided
Willow and that's been in about four
different
places and uh now it's there
there sorry the lighting
is it's not good today actually I've
picked the
wrong there we go I've picked the wrong
day or the wrong time of day for
filming I've had so many leaves Leaf
clearing sessions but I did think that
it was a good
idea for me to clear the leaves once a
week rather than leaving it till the
last minute you can can see I've got a
lemon Cyprus there now which was in the
front garden that blew over in storm B
if you saw that short there was that
story that's been moved and then I
planted it here that's the apple tree we
swapped apple tree lemon Cyprus um yeah
I don't know if that will stay that
might just go to the Garden grave in the
sky but the lemon Cyprus blew over again
so that's been moved
and that's it really I mean it's
December I do have a lot of Evergreens
which I'm pleased about and that's a
quick look at this
side oh December Gardens aren't that
interesting are they anyway that's my
garden
in December
come on come on sit down here
Mommy come sit
down oh I hope you enjoyed looking at my
garden um yes uh I don't expect to do
very much a little Potter around I need
to clear the leaves out the pond and
things like that but there won't be any
more videos um not for a long long time
at least however however everyone I've
got such an exciting little set of a
series of videos which which will come
out some point I don't know when
February perhaps in March definitely
March
because sorry it's cold my nose is
running my friend Tina who has been my
very very very good friend for 10 years
or more she asked me to design her
garden her and her husband and Keith
they've uh had a lot of building work
they've done no gardening all this year
2024 because they've been doing building
work and their Garden which they love
it's just well it needs a revamp so they
asked me would I do it for them and I
thought yes how exciting is that so I
drew up a plan proper to scow scow
drawing in and everything and I've
designed a new Garden for them and we've
already done a about five different uh
days of gardening ripping things out
starting from scratch it's going to be
so exciting we've filmed three videos
completely finished already but now of
course with the winter um we're we're uh
not doing any for quite a few couple of
months anyway but I didn't want to post
those three because I don't want you to
wait for 3 months before you see an
update I want you to see them every week
a progression
even if in real life there is a couple
of months Gap because there's some
building work um that needs to be done
which I can't do that but already we've
made lots of changes it's very exciting
and also I wanted to start now we
started in November and I wanted to
start this side of Christmas because uh
I want to hopefully be ready for
planting in spring so if we waited to
start the garden and till like March
time we won't be ready for planting or
anything till like July or something
which uh don't want to do that we don't
want to do that we want to get on with
it but that is has been so much fun so I
I'll be showing you that this is going
to be a nice series I hope which is
going to be um I'm not sure when it all
depends on when the building work starts
or when that's done um so that I can do
weekly videos I hope I'm making sense
but anyway very very exciting it's not a
big Garden it's a very it's quite a
small garden it's smaller than my garden
but it's going to be gorgeous and it's
I'm loving it I'm loving it anyway part
four I've had this clip on my phone for
a whole year cuz I couldn't bear to
delete it but do you remember when we
did our Christmas
conto this time last year when I played
the piano which I must say I've not
played it since I learned that one tune
and that was it I've not gone back to it
I thought by now I should be able to
pick up a a music book and just play I
should have learned so much but that
didn't happen that's not to say it won't
happen in the future however Richard
sang this song for you
and a week later he'd had his heart
attack and cardiac arest and everything
we had no idea when we were like having
fun making this video so it was a fun
video to make but I thought let's show
it again I know you've seen it but it is
Christmas and I want to thank you all
for being such such good friends and
Merry Christmas to you all and a very
very happy New Year lty says hi and she
wants to go for a walk so I'm going to
leave you with this clip and a very very
Merry Christmas and a very very happy
and peaceful
and healthy New Year thank you for
