Arsenal made light work of Lens to advance into the round of 16 of the Champions League with a game to spare.
Scintillating from Arteta's side.
They quite simply blew Lonz away.
A joy to watch when in full flow this Arsenal side.
It is a season that promises so much.
Kai Havertz it was, who opened the scoring.
His third goal in four games for club and country.
Hot on the heels of his winner at Brentford at the weekend.
There were just so many good performances out there.
Another goal, another assist for Saka.
Probably the pick of the bunch in terms of the goals.
Martin Ellis.
But there was just so much to admire about all of this Arsenal performance, Lucy.
Yeah, I think it was an outstanding performance, particularly first half.
I think they managed, they didn't need to score any more goals in the second half.
They just took the foot off the pedal, managed to rest players.
Getting players full of confidence, the likes of Havertz.
Just puts a statement down to the rest of Europe.
And I think that's important as well from this Arsenal team.
Full time at the Emirates, Arsenal six, Lonz nil.
Lucy Ward and Adam Somerson, thank you very much indeed.
What a great atmosphere here at the Emirates Stadium.
Then as Arsenal do the job with a game to spare,
they have sealed top spot in the group,
which means they will go through to the round of 16 as the seeded side.
And they're also top of the Premier League as well, Arsenal fans.
So it's been quite a week for Mikel Arteta's side.
Just fallen one goal short of their all-time biggest win in a European game,
which was 7-0.
Martin Keown, who's alongside me, played in one of those games.
And Michael Owen is here as well.
It's been just absolutely clinical from this Arsenal side
for all the times that Arsenal have been criticised
for not having that one centre forward who could bag them 20 goals a season.
Today, everyone got in on the act, six different goalscorers on one night.
Michael, it's an impressive performance, isn't it, tonight?
It was, it was an amazing first half.
And of course to spread the goals around like that is a dream come true for Mikel Arteta.
Get everybody full of confidence, all the attacking players scored,
the five frontmen in the first half, so that's just a brilliant scenario.
And it enabled them really just to cruise through that second half,
they weren't going to exert themselves, they weren't going to really risk injury,
and rightly so, it's a great night.
Arsenal through to the round of 16,
and as you say, sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League.
Couldn't be any better.
Yeah, six years out of the top competition in Europe.
I mean, they've been waiting for moments like this.
They have, and you know, this is their first season for a lot of these players.
We've seen, looking at Sakho, we're talking about the assists and the goals he scores are
the best in Europe right now.
And that was really a big message from Arsenal, how good they are.
I know that in their own back garden, so to speak,
Man City is there, the best team probably in Europe,
but who's the next best? Is it Liverpool? Is it Arsenal in our own Premier League?
And who is it in Europe?
And I think tonight we can see the quality of what our Premier League teams are capable of.
They blew Lons away tonight, and of course we lost the first game against them,
and they bounced back, and that's a real kind of like,
they've laid down a marker there of how good this Arsenal team really is tonight.
