What do you know about creativity?
There are a few comments on my channel that
Sis, if I'm not creative, can I do design?
Or Sis, if I'm not creative, can I do creative content?
Besides, where else do you find the concept of creativity?
We often praise the inventions of Japanese people who are very creative.
We can understand that creativity is doing something new and different
that can surprise others.
I have 5 years of experience working in the content creation industry
and I found out that we often misunderstand
that there are only design industries or related to art, film, and music
that require a lot of creativity.
However, based on my own experience,
I find that creativity is necessary for all fields and almost all professions.
So I will try to explain creativity
both in art work and in economic and technical work
so that you can clearly understand creativity.
In the end, what is it and how can we train creativity?
You can go to Google and type in the search bar
What is creativity?
It will give you a lot of results.
However, I will choose a result that is easiest for me to understand.
Creativity is creating completely new things
or arranging old things in a new order to create new things.
We have a number of creative industries such as
design, painting, film, photography
and a number of content creation industries such as content, copywriter, screenwriter.
However, as I said, creativity is necessary for almost all industries
not just the above industries.
I have read an interesting book
which is called NETFLIX, breaking the rule to break.
This book talks about how to manage people in a business.
In a business with many employees,
there must be rules for employees to follow
to create an order, a discipline for the business.
If the business owner can build the right rules,
the right culture,
it can help the company develop faster
and create a friendly and comfortable working environment for employees.
And it is worth mentioning that this book
provides very innovative, creative and unique ways
to build the company's culture.
For you to understand the creativity in business management
of CEO NETFLIX,
I will take a few examples from this book.
Normal companies want to hire employees
with a reasonable salary.
But in NETFLIX, they are willing to pay a higher salary than the market.
It's a terrible thought, isn't it?
Their actions are explained as follows.
They want to increase the level of talent.
A normal company will have talented people
mixed with average-skilled people.
But in NETFLIX, it is an excellent environment
where everyone is super.
When you come to the company,
everyone around you is talented and bright.
It will help you have more motivation for work.
And everyone will go up together.
Thanks to this, they can do a lot of things at a tremendous speed.
Secondly, they want to remove the controls.
In a normal company, the decisions of the bottom
must have the approval of the top.
But here it is not like that.
The employees here are given the right to decide.
They don't have to ask for the approval of the top.
This is a strange thing
and it is very difficult to find in any company in Vietnam.
The explanation is as follows.
First, they only hire excellent people.
So they have great confidence in their employees.
Talented people, when they are trusted,
when they are given the right to decide,
they will be very excited about their work.
Second, when employees are given the right to decide,
they will understand that they have to take responsibility
when they fail.
So they will consider very carefully
in front of their ideas or decisions.
Here, they also remove the rules and regulations.
Normal companies will manage employees
by the time they are present in the company.
For example, they are present at 8am,
and come home at 5pm.
The CEO of Netlix shared that
he has never cared about
how many hours his employees work per week.
That is meaningless to him.
What he cares about is the values
that employees create.
That is the basis for him to promote or praise someone.
In addition, here all employees are allowed
to retire whenever they want
and for as long as they want.
They don't have to ask for the approval of the top
even if it is a few hours a day,
a week, or a month.
Why is that?
Because Netflix is a company dedicated to creativity.
If they fire employees,
force them to go to the office,
force them to work on time,
it may prevent their creativity.
On the contrary, a comfortable spirit
will help them have unique ideas.
Previously, they also recruited talented and reliable people.
So they believe that
employees have the right to decide
for their own life.
I just share some of the ideas
that I read in the book.
If you like it, you can read it to get more information.
The field that I just mentioned
is about human management.
You can see that it needs creativity.
So you can understand that
creativity is necessary in any field.
Because in any field,
it needs innovation,
improvement, and better products.
In the primitive age,
we can only walk,
but gradually we have bicycles,
airplanes,
they are all based on creativity.
When it comes to art,
such as design, music, film, etc.,
is it possible to work
without creativity?
I have studied drawing for many years
and my opinion is
that drawing a picture
does not completely depend on creativity.
It's not that I'm creative
so I can draw a beautiful and unique picture.
When you study drawing,
there are still formulas and theories.
I have studied the theory of symmetry,
the two-thirds formula,
the theory of color,
and the theory of near-distance blending.
I need to have the ability to recognize
shapes, images, colors, light.
Second, I need to have aesthetic taste
or call it aesthetic brain.
And creativity means
I come up with something unique and different.
I think it's important,
but it's not everything.
And now you think
you are not a creative person,
you can learn and practice it
as I will reveal at the end of the video.
Similarly, when it comes to creating video content
or writing a film script,
it is the same.
That is, I also have formulas to support me.
In addition, I really need to observe,
experience, connect with life.
So having a lot of knowledge about life
and grasping formulas
will make it easier for me to create.
To answer the question
if you are not creative,
can you do the job of creating images,
videos, content,
or jobs that require a lot of creativity?
I would like to answer as follows.
You need to understand
your strengths and weaknesses
and the requirements in your job.
Because creativity is just part of the requirement.
If you have other strengths
that correspond to your job,
it will be very different from
having absolutely no strengths
that correspond to the job you want to pursue.
You can refer to some of the tests
I put in the description box
to identify your strengths and weaknesses
and the jobs that suit you.
Next, I will talk about
what is a creative value.
If you have an idea
or you create something
that is different and innovative,
it does not mean
it is a valuable thing.
Back to the example of running a company,
you think of an innovative idea,
but whether that idea
brings back value
and helps the company develop or not.
Or you create something
that is quite innovative,
but no one needs it,
it is not a creative value.
Recently, I watched the MV
of the singer Hien Ho.
If not to mention the twists and turns,
I think this MV
is very creative.
It is known that Denis Dang is a creative director
and also the one who wrote the script for the MV.
So you can understand
the creativity of the MV
based on some of my experiences.
I would like to have some comments like this.
The difficulty is not just focusing on
having a creative idea.
The difficulty is how to make
others understand your idea.
An MV shot outside the trash,
the main character is a little girl
with a duck.
It does not sound as beautiful and romantic
as other MVs.
So how to present it
so that others can understand your idea
and how to convince others
to spend a lot of money
to realize your idea
is a very difficult thing.
The second important thing is the ability to realize the idea.
I have a very innovative,
very good, very creative idea.
But the important thing is how
I can turn it into a real product
with value.
In the MV, people who are very good
will not meet better.
I see a scene that has to be shot outside the trash.
I have to shoot like this,
have to dress like this,
I have to shoot like this,
In conclusion, there are two factors
that help you become more creative.
First, I have to have different thoughts,
different actions,
compared to the formulas or things
that I and everyone else do.
Second, I have to have a lot of knowledge
and have a lot of experience in the field
that I want to create.
And don't forget that a creative idea
has value along with the ability
to realize that idea,
which is much more important
than just having a creative idea.
Thank you for watching my video,
don't forget to click on the bell
and wait for the latest videos
in my channel.
Goodbye and see you again.
