Andy's End of Month Update October 2023 | Union Rescue Mission

I want to give you an end-of-October update. After having missed a few months because of health reasons, I am so glad to be back and recovering. Thank you for your prayers and support.

We've had a great October. I've been back to work for about three weeks.
We had the Outstanding Hope Gardens graduation testimonies of miracles happening in mom's lives. Many of them actually overcoming drug addiction and getting their kids back. They had me in tears.
And many of them are now living productive lives; that's what we do. That's who we are, and we can't do it without you. Your support is crucial to us being able to provide a safe, sober, and peaceful environment to our moms and kids.

Had a great opportunity to lead about 30 German journalists through Union Rescue Mission, and the tour lasted over two hours. They were so interested in what we do and were so puzzled by the homelessness in LA that they did not understand because they do not allow people to fall on the streets like us in Germany. They have a healthcare welfare system that doesn't allow the kind of homelessness that we experience.

Bonnie and I received the Guardian Angel Award for our generous giving to Union Rescue Mission throughout my career, as well as leadership of the mission. It was the most overwhelming "Thank yous" I have ever experienced. So many people were kissing me on the cheek, thanking me, and wanting a picture with me. I was overwhelmed by the love shown to me at the Life Builders Event. It has been my greatest honor to serve as the leader of Union Rescue Mission.

We do have a big Thanksgiving event coming up. We're going to have our Annual Turkey Friday right before Thanksgiving, and our big event is Saturday before Thanksgiving. We would love you to volunteer and support us and provide, uh, turkeys if you have them.

Finding out who my successor is at any moment. And you'll know as soon as I know.
I want to encourage you to continue your support because Union Rescue Mission will stay focused on recovery, life transformation, and productivity and continue to be a place that always says yes and never says no.
