Three things in life are inevitable death taxes in your Saturn return
I know that was a super lame joke, but all jokes aside your Saturn return is serious business
this is a time when you're gonna be forced to come to terms with your age your station in life and how you measure up to
Your peers if you've been irresponsible up until this point Saturn will hit you hard
If you've been allowing fear and procrastination to prevent you from putting in the work
Once again, Saturn will not take things easy on you
Your Saturn return happens around age 28 to 30 again between ages 58 to 60 and one final time in your late 80s
Regardless of which of these three Saturn returns you're on this is going to be a time of major frustrations big life lessons
Huge reality checks and sobering wake-up calls
This will also be a time of profound personal growth
But only if you're willing to face your overdue responsibilities and past mistakes head-on
You'll overcome lifelong obstacles that you once thought were insurmountable and you'll do so through your own sheer force of will
I've seen some of the craziest
Accomplishments and some of the biggest life events happen around people's Saturn return periods
Especially when people are willing to put the effort in because Saturn requires effort Saturn requires self-discipline
Saturn requires that you do the work Saturn's return periods can be some of the most challenging and rewarding
Time periods of our entire lives in this video
We'll do a super deep dive into what to expect for your Saturn return
Including a breakdown of what to expect for each Saturn return regardless of what age you're at and what phase of life you're in
So let's start with the first thing first. What the heck is Saturn and what does it represent?
Astrologically we need to start here in order to understand the major themes and energies that will be activated and reactivated
around the time of your Saturn return
Saturn of course is known as the great malefic. It brings hardship
limitation restriction
Heaviness roadblocks and it has the power to challenge you and say no to things
When you are gaining momentum Saturn can stop you right in your tracks
It can slow you down and prevent you from moving forward
Saturn moves in 28 to 30 year cycles and it's associated with the longer cycles and timeline of timelines within our lives
It's the bigger longer
Repeating cycles that we have to go through time and time again at these major milestones
Especially around the time of the Saturn return
Saturn is connected to Kronos and is known as the keeper of time
Often Saturn Saturn's placement in the birth chart shows us
Areas and topics and themes in our lives where we're gonna experience major delays where we're gonna feel like we're behind
Everyone else and we're just like slow and not gaining a lot of traction very quickly
And we have to work ten times harder. It seems than those around us
Saturn slows things down to ensure that we're doing things the right way and not the fast way
There's no shortcuts with with Saturn Saturn requires that we learn to understand the value of delayed
gratification
sometimes with Saturn things take longer also due to our internal fear and our
anxieties around the things that we have to actually put work into and it can lead to
Procrastination and so it's not just that Saturn brings in these outside obstacles that prevent us from moving forward
It's not that Saturn just slows us down through these external circumstances
Saturn shows us an area of our lives where we slow ourselves down
where we prevent ourselves from gaining momentum because we are afraid for one reason or another and so we
procrastinate we prevent
Ourselves from doing what we need to do the work that we know that we need to put in to get the results that we
Desire Saturn's placement and our birth chart is associated with our deepest fears and material real-life
Insecurities, usually these fears are rooted in actual real-life experience that stems from early childhood
So a lot of times with Saturn what we're doing is we're modeling our behavior off of the misguided
Behaviors of these so-called adults in our lives when we were growing up
Saturn can create bad habits early on that we repeat and repeat and repeat
until we learn to put in the effort to change things and to not make those same mistakes that our
Parents our grandparents our ancestors made or to not make the same mistakes that maybe we made in previous lifetimes
Saturn is a karmic planet and it's all about breaking free from those repetitive
Cycles that hold us back and restrict us from doing what we want to do and achieving what we came here to achieve
Saturn is also the planet of boundaries. It shows us how we deal with responsibility and whether or not we are able to create
Appropriate boundaries with ourselves and with other people in our lives. Saturn is very important in this way
astrologically and astronomically speaking
Saturn actually represents the boundary between the seen and the unseen worlds
It's the last of the visible traditional planets before all of the other planets in a row
Become unseen because they're farther and farther out in our solar system. And so this is actually where structure where?
materiality where physicality is formed
Astrologically speaking it is that boundary Saturn is cold
Serious and stern strong Saturn influences in the birth chart can make us prone to pessimism
negativity
Loneliness coldness and rigidity it can make us too objective lacking in imagination
Saturn is also the traditional planet that's associated with death. That's right in traditional astrology
Saturn rules over death not Pluto and so strong Saturn transits including the Saturn return can have us
Preoccupied with our age how much time we have left on this planet and our own mortality
it's a marker and a milestone of what we've accomplished where we're at in the timeline of our lives and
What we have left to fulfill in medical astrology Saturn rules the hair teeth nails joints
Collagen and structural components of the body and it's also associated with the gallbladder
Saturn may also be associated with the prefrontal cortex of the brain
So before we move on to get into the nitty-gritty of the Saturn return energy and what this means for you
I want to take a moment to discuss
What to look for in your own chart in order to understand if your Saturn placement and therefore your Saturn return will be more
positive and easier for you to navigate or if it's going to be a more challenging difficult and
Trying time for you because it really does differ from person to person
Everyone's Saturn return experience looks a little bit different
But if you have a more positive energy around Saturn
Then Saturn's going to go a little bit easier on you and you're gonna have a much easier time
cultivating the
responsibility the self-discipline the hard work and the effort needed in order to
accomplish your goals and you're actually going to be able to accomplish your goals and overcome the obstacles using your own hard work and
using your own volition
However, if Saturn's in a more negative placement around the time of your Saturn return
You might have more difficulty than other people during their Saturn returns when you're comparing yourself to others
Which you're very likely to do around that Saturn return period but also you might have
challenges and obstacles and
Difficulties that come up for you that you're not fully able to work through that you're not fully able to overcome
Despite your best efforts. And so if Saturn is in a day chart
so if you were born during the day with the Sun above the horizon your Saturn return it might be just slightly easier and
you might be able to
Overcome the challenges and the lessons and the difficulties that come up for you through your own hard work through your efforts
It's still going to be strenuous. It's not going to be an easy time, but it does kind of lighten the load for you
Saturn being in the signs of
Capricorn or Aquarius where it's in its rulership or Saturn in the sign of Libra where it's in its exaltation is also a
Positive energy for Saturn and a positive energy for your Saturn return and your ability to be supported
by your life circumstances by the people around you in order to again put in that effort and make things happen to
Overcome things that you thought were insurmountable and to accomplish some major major goals
around the time of the Saturn return
The final thing that you want to look at is whether or not Saturn's making positive aspects in your birth chart
So if Saturn's making trines or sextiles to other planets
Those planets are helping Saturn and they're helping you to get through this time period that would otherwise be extra difficult
So on the flip side if Saturn is in a night chart
So if you were born with the Sun below the horizon at night
Saturn is a stronger
malefic influence in your chart and therefore it's gonna be harder for you to overcome the obstacles and challenges that are
Associated with Saturn at the time of your Saturn return. That doesn't mean that you can't overcome them
That doesn't mean that you don't need to work hard if you should just give up
In fact, it's exactly the opposite. You have to work harder because of this nocturnal Saturn placement in order to
Overcome and to not be sucked in and dragged down by that Saturnian energy
You still have the ability to accomplish some huge goals and to achieve things that you otherwise didn't think were possible
at this time
but you're gonna be faced with more hurdles more hardships and more roadblocks that will throw you for a loop and
Slow down your momentum. So it's gonna take you longer and you're gonna have to work harder
The other thing you want to look at is what sign Saturn's in and so if Saturn is in the sign of
Cancer or Leo where it's in its detriment
That's going to be a testimony to Saturn making things a little bit harder for you at the time of your Saturn return
The same can be said for Saturn in the sign of Aries where it's at its fall in all of these positions and all of
These signs Saturn is not supported with what it needs in order to carry out its
Significations and so even when you put in all of the work and all of the effort, you're not going to be as
supported by the universe by other people by your life circumstances in achieving and accomplishing your goals or
Overcoming the challenges that your Saturn return creates for you
Finally if Saturn is in a square with other planets in your birth chart
Especially if it's in a square with Mars
Which is the other malefic influence then that's going to create a lot of extra frustration
blockages challenges
Hardships that again, you're just gonna have to work even harder
So things are gonna be piled on even thicker and it's gonna be a lot harder to kind of bring yourself out of the sludge
And you're probably going to feel less
Optimistic overall about your circumstances at the time of the Saturn return and I'm sure this is not helping
However, if this is you and you have all the things stacked against you for your Saturn
That does not mean that you are doomed
It just means that some of the lessons some of the challenges some of the difficulties that come up
Around the time of your Saturn return
You're not going to be able to fix and you're not going to be able to fix all at once
But you will be able to accomplish something you will be able to make some sort of progress. You will have something
to show for all of the effort and all of the hard work you put in it just might not be as
as big
In terms of accomplishments as you might see for other people who are having their Saturn return with a more positive Saturn placement
For most people your Saturn energy is going to be very mixed
it's gonna be you know potentially in its fall but in a day chart and
Trining this and squaring that and so most of us do have kind of a mixed bag where we're supported
But we're not and it's kind of in the middle
The final thing that I want to mention before we get into the Saturn return energy is you need to look at
Your Saturn placement as a whole to understand not just whether it's going to be more difficult or easier for you
but to understand
The topics and the themes and the energies
That are most likely to come up for you at or around the time of your Saturn return
And so you want to look at things like what house is your Saturn placed in?
Because the topics and the themes and the energies that are connected to that house are gonna be very active and that's where you're gonna be
Experiencing the challenges the delays the roadblocks the comparisons to other people all of the things that we're about to be talking about here
You of course want to look at what sign so even if it's not in its fall or detriment or exaltation or rulership
It's still showing you how that Saturn energy is being expressed by looking at what sign Saturn is placed in
You also want to understand which planetary aspects Saturn is making to other natal planets in your birth chart
That's gonna tell you a lot and all of this information is gonna help to paint a very clear more nuanced
picture of what your biggest set of return experiences are going to be and so
Definitely take a dive into your own chart learn more about astrology
That's a really important thing to do around the time of your Saturn return or get a reading if you don't want to learn anything
Yourself but diving into your Saturn placement is gonna help you to understand the obstacles that you're about to be facing and that
Way you can overcome them way more successfully by getting ahead of it and putting in that extra effort before it even becomes a problem
I highly highly recommend doing this for your Saturn return
So moving on to the actual Saturn return
Astrologically speaking the first Saturn return is when you become an adult. So the first one is
marking that milestone between
Young adulthood teenage years childhood and actually becoming a full-blown like you are an adult
Astrologically speaking this is when you are coming of age and you are a grown-up
The second Saturn return is when you transition from being an adult to being an elder
You're not you're kind of in this weird space because you're not ready to be an elder yet
But you're also not a like a normal young adult. You're not in your middle age anymore
it's kind of this transitionary period and the final Saturn return if you're lucky enough to reach that age is more about
transitioning from this lifetime into the next and
During any of these Saturn return periods you have to risk you have to accept responsibility for the structures the burdens
the responsibilities that you've taken on and created for yourself and what you've
Committed yourself to prior to this Saturn return period and so you have to commit yourself to facing the challenges that Saturn represents
based on its
Significations in your chart and its individual placement its unique placement in your birth chart and the topics and themes that are tied to that
And this is for everyone
Regardless of which Saturn return you're on this is an important transitional time
It's both the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another so as I mentioned before
The first Saturn return it's the end of youth and beginning of adulthood
So this is a major transitionary period in middle age to the elder years
That's going to be another major transitionary period where you're transitioning from one phase of life to another so carefree young adulthood
teenage years to actually being an adult with all sorts of
responsibilities and burdens and having to really get yourself together and
Put in the work to be responsible and create a good life for yourself
And then from there the transitionary period is you've already been there done that you've you know, got a good career going
Hopefully you've started a family if that's a goal of yours
You've accomplished a lot of what you wanted to accomplish and this is a period of kind of looking back and wondering like
You know, where did it go wrong? Where did you not measure up? Where did you not live up to your expectations?
Where did you you know negate putting in the work where you might have needed to and how can you prepare?
During this time for that transition from middle age to your elder years because this is often a time where people
Start thinking about retirement. It's kind of like alright. I didn't really plan for this
I don't know what I'm going to do, you know when I'm like 70 or whatever
I should probably get a plan going. I should probably start that 401k
I should probably do something responsible or it's looking back and saying alright. I set myself up for success
What do I want to do with these later years? How do I want to?
Engage with my life moving forward now that I've accomplished all of this and now that I'm moving into something different and in the elder years
it's really a big life review and life reflection and it depends because a lot of people when they reach their
Their late mid to late 80s
They're not in good health and they're not maybe in
Cognitively in good health either and so, you know
If that's the case oftentimes the Saturn return can be about that
It can be with coming to terms with your aging and ailing body
it can be about coming to terms with the fact that your brain is not as sharp as it used to be or
It could be about coming to terms with the fact that you are wrapping up your lifetime
You're wrapping up maybe a very full very meaningful life and you're preparing to transition into the next and so that would be a big
thing for that third Saturn return, which again not everybody reaches and not everybody's lucky enough to get to and
Especially not everybody's lucky enough to get there and to get there in good health
But if they are they've already achieved more than most people because that is an accomplishment in and of itself
So as I mentioned at the start of this video if you've been accepting the responsibilities that are tied to your Saturn placement if you've been
Tackling it head-on and bravely and not procrastinating and not avoiding dealing with Saturn
Then Saturn can be a really this period of the Saturn return can be a very fruitful. I'll be a
challenging period in your life
This is also a time when you become very aware of your age
Like I mentioned before and the limited time you have left here on planet Earth
So this is a time of looking at where you're at in your lifespan and how you
Measure up to your own standards to your own goals to your own
Expectations for yourself and for your life thus far like did you do what you wanted to do?
Have you accomplished what you wanted to accomplish? Where have you missed the mark? Where have you made mistakes?
Where have you created?
Foundations that are crumbling and that are not solid in the area of life where Saturn is returning
Where have you built yourself a cage instead of a platform for like a home or for?
You know a life that you really and truly want to live
So this is a time of releasing burdens that no longer serve you breaking down old rules
responsibilities
You know old structures that you've created that are preventing you from being who you want to be
So that's part of that life review that comes at any phase of the Saturn return
This is also looking at
Where you've made mistakes
so where have you taken on responsibilities that you need to let go of because these are not in alignment with what you want for
Yourself if that is something that's coming up for you, which it likely will at least in some way
You have to work on letting go of those responsibilities
slowly
mindfully in a
Responsible way where you're not just burning it all down and throwing it all away all at once if you do that that ladder
method if you just
Dump everything and create a giant mess that other people have to clean up that will come back to haunt you
Especially at your next Saturn return if not sooner when Saturn moves into another point in the cycle
Like that first quarter square roughly seven years ish after
You want to make sure that you are not creating a mess
This is about cleaning up messes and building or rebuilding the structures of your life in a more
Adaptive way that's going to serve you not just right now. This is not about short-term
Gain, this is about what you're creating for yourself for your future for the next 30 years of your life
Yes, it is that serious
And so you want to take your Saturn return?
Seriously, and you want to make sure that you're putting in the work and that you're doing things the right way and not the fast
Way because that's what Saturn wants
Often at this time you're going to be kind of not just reviewing where you measure up to your own standards
but you're gonna be looking at other people in your peer group and in your age group and
Kind of trying to figure out how you measure up to them
And so another thing that happens very often in the Saturn return is that you're comparing yourself to other people at a similar age
And what they've accomplished especially in the area of life tied to Saturn
So for example, if Saturn's in your second house of money, you're gonna be comparing your savings your wealth your financial security
To other people in your age group if Saturn's in your seventh house of relationships
You're gonna be comparing yourself to other people around your age and looking at their marriages their partnerships
the stability and happiness in those partnerships and
Oftentimes you're gonna feel like you don't measure up because Saturn in those areas brings delays
It causes things to come up gradually and with what much much more hard work
You'll see or you'll feel that things are coming much more easily for other people in these areas and for you for some reason
You're behind you're struggling. You're not quite there and that is okay
Regardless of what's going on with that. You are on a different timeline. You are on a different path
You're probably way ahead of them in other areas where they have their Saturn and they're ahead of you
Not that it's a competition or a race
But they are achieving things that you wish you could have achieved already, but you're not on that timeline and that's okay
You're gonna do things slowly
Methodically, you're gonna have to put in that effort
But the reward and just that feeling of fulfillment that you'll get at the end of it when you've had to work so hard for
This and you finally accomplish what you want to accomplish
That's gonna be so valuable and that's something that the other people you're comparing yourself to will never get to experience
and so
it's a blessing and a curse to have Saturn in a certain area of your life and that Saturn return brings up a lot of
feelings and a lot of sometimes even jealousy around other people
But just remember that you are not them and you're not here to have the same experience that they're here to have
Saturn returns require a lot of hard work focus ambition and self-discipline
Typically, you have to work through these issues alone, which can feel really isolating
Recruiting help only works through guidance. You can't dump these responsibilities on to other people
You have to do the work yourself
and so one of the best ways to
Navigate your Saturn return is to reach out to somebody else who's already been through a similar situation
Who's already put in the work and achieved their goals successfully who's already overcome the same
obstacles that you are in the process of trying to overcome and ask for their guidance their knowledge their
Experience but do not ask anybody to try to do it for you because that will not work Saturn will shut that down
All right, so let's get into the energy of each Saturn return individually in a little bit more detail
So your first Saturn return differs from the others and that it's your very first
Reality check when you'll have to grow up and become responsible for the life that you've created in
adulthood for the very first time
Typically the lessons and the challenges that you're overcoming during your first Saturn return actually stem from early childhood
Experiences and modeling the adults that were in your life as you were learning to become a mature adult
So basically your upbringing nudged you in the direction of creating some sort of mess usually
And you're grown up now. And so it's up to you to clean up the mess
It's not up to your parents to clean it up for you. It's not up to
Your teachers. It's not up to your friends. It's not up to your relatives
It's not up to anybody but you to clean up the mess you created and that is the biggest reality check of the first Saturn
Return for a lot of people because you're used to even in young adulthood
getting some sort of help from other people not always the case but often the case because
You're young you're inexperienced
People are willing to cut you some slack
After that first Saturn return and around the time of that first Saturn return that slack is no longer going to be cut for you
Your first Saturn return also differs from the others and that you're also
Experiencing your Neptune sextile to your natal Neptune as well as your Jupiter
Opposition to your natal Jupiter and your Uranus trine to your natal Uranus
And so there's a lot of corresponding
Cycles that are matching up all at once if you want to learn more about all of these planetary cycles and how they correspond
Through each phase of life including during your first Saturn return. I do have a
webinar series
Available on my website called planetary cycles and throughout all stages of life or navigating planetary cycles through all stages of life
I'll link it down here
But it teaches you a little bit about how all of these things work together and in each phase of life
That's going to be different. And so at the time of Saturn return, you're having a lot of really positive
Helpful energy with your other cycles that are coming to pass
and that helps to support you in other areas of life while you're going through this challenging Saturn energy and
While you focus on the number one problem at hand, which has to do with Saturn's return in your second Saturn return
If you navigate your first Saturn return
Successfully and you put in the work you did as much as you could you overcame obstacles you achieved and accomplished your goals
Then the second Saturn return will be a much easier and rewarding time for you
If you procrastinated slacked off
Negated your responsibilities or otherwise did not put in the work during your first Saturn return
Then your second Saturn returns not going to be very nice to you. That's how Saturn works. And so
Slack off and it's gonna be harder, right?
So make sure you take advantage of that first Saturn return if you didn't and you're coming up on your second Saturn return
That's okay
If you know that you left a mess for yourself last time around, you know
It's about to be coming back and you have time to start putting in the work in advance
Wherever you're at in your Saturn cycle start working on your natal Saturn energies
Think back to what happened around age 28 to 30 because that's going to give you the topics and themes
Even if you don't understand the astrology in your chart that will be present and that will come back up for you in a big
way during your second Saturn return
but in a new in a different way because you're in a completely different phase of life and so a lot of that energy will
Be returning with Saturn's return and so you can get ahead of it without even understanding your astrology just by thinking back to what was going
On what challenges you face and what was left undone at that time of the Saturn return?
That's still creating a bit of a mess for you
The second Saturn return also marks the very beginning of the later elder years
And so some people might mourn the loss of their youth around this time and dwell on the opportunity
Opportunities that they feel that they missed out on
Others will look at this as an opportunity for a fresh start
It's kind of like, you know
I didn't really like what I created up until this point and so I want to build something new because I still have
You know 20 30 years left
However long your lifespan might be and so you want to keep going you want to create something better for yourself in the future
Many burdens that were associated with your youth will start to fall away, especially if you've been dealing with all of your
responsibilities
Responsibly, so if you've been putting in the work and carrying the weight
Then a lot of these old issues will start to fall away around this around this time
This is a time also where you're going to be reflecting very deeply on your age
And you'll be very aware of how much time you have left on this earth and what you want the remainder of your life
To look like and so planning for retirement like I mentioned before is common at this stage
But even if you're somebody who will never retire, which is awesome
I hope that I'm there someday because I don't want to retire either, but we'll see
but if you're somebody who doesn't want to retire then this is a really
beautiful time to plan out the next phase of your life and what you want this to look like and to start to put in
the work to make that happen and so it's gonna feel more urgent for you to
do all the things that you wanted to do to accomplish everything you wanted to accomplish to see and learn all that you've wanted to
See learn and experience
That's gonna feel much more pressing. It's gonna feel like oh my gosh. I don't have time left
I need to make sure that I make space and create a situation where this can happen for me
Your second Saturn return also differs from the first because you're also gonna have your Jupiter return
Toward the end of that second Saturn return
Which is a good it's a reset in luck and good fortune in some area of your life
That's happening at the end of a period of maybe some challenge
And so the Jupiter return assists with this transitional phase by offering new opportunities and a mature perspective
Often at this stage. We actually wish to share our wisdom of our experiences with other people
And so you might have been through this gone through that
This is the second time that you're dealing with these challenges and you're doing so much better at it that you want to help other
People who are maybe younger than you less experienced than you who are going through similar issues
So you second Saturn return people should pair up with the first Saturn return people and help them get through their first Saturn return
That would be the best way if we live in a society where everybody was aware of astrology and how it worked
That's what we would be doing, right?
And again
If you want to understand these corresponding cycles and how they match up at different phases and different times of your life
Definitely check out my webinar series that I did on this topic. The link is down in the description below
All right, and then finally
the third Saturn return
Like I mentioned before not a lot of people or not
Everyone makes it to this third Saturn return because it happens roughly age 86
Give or take a couple of years. And so it's a time period where people are
really in their elder years already and
There are a lot of people I've met and that even some students in my academy who are at this phase and who are still
Sharp, they're still healthy. They're still active. They're still doing the things that they love to do
They're still learning things like astrology and I love that
And so you'll have those people who are there and they're just kind of reflecting back on everything they learned
It's a time of wrapping things up and imparting your wisdom your experiences all of those things to other people
it is a time though when you probably will become very much aware of
your own mortality even more so than that second Saturn return because
You know
The timeline is getting shorter and shorter and so you're aware that you only have so much time left and you want to make the
best of it and so this is a period of putting in the work to make sure that
Not only you're able to live the best possible life through the remainder of your years
But also to make sure that the legacy you leave behind is something really solid and that's something that a lot of people will be
Thinking about around this time
However, a lot of people who have this third Saturn return in this day and age not well many of them
You know are dealing with issues like physical issues where their physical body is failing or they're dealing with
issues of cognitive decline sometimes people end up, you know getting dementia and things like that and that can be one of the
hardships one of the challenges of Saturn at that third Saturn return and
You know that might be just what they're dealing with
So it really just depends on how Saturn is aligned in your chart what it's matching up with
Astrologically the medical and straw astrology involved
there's a lot that goes into understanding this especially in this final period and
So as I mentioned before the final Saturn return it marks the transition
transition period from this lifetime and into the next
Alright you guys so that is
Everything I have for you on Saturn return
Let me know in the comment section below if you are in your Saturn return or if you've moved past it
Successfully, where's Saturn in your chart? What did you experience?
What came up for you?
And how did you overcome it because other people going through their Saturn return can absolutely learn and benefit from your experience
Thank you again so much for watching this video, and I'll see you in the next one. Bye everyone
