Hello, this is Dave from Imagine Dragons.
We are backstage at the Delta Center
just a few hours out from LoveLoud.
LoveLoud is a festival we started six years ago
to make a vital conversation about what it means
to love and accept our LGBTQ youth.
And this is the first year that we're taking it on the road.
LoveLoud really started just through a friendship.
One of my dear friends, Kyler Flynn, is a singer of Beyond Trees.
He didn't come out until his 30s
because he didn't feel that there was a room for him
in faith and religious communities.
And so the two of us came up with the idea of starting LoveLoud
to primarily put festivals in areas that are highly religious
and to bring all the people out, talk about what it means
to love and accept our LGBTQ youth.
And I'm never changing who I am.
This year and tour in particular is really special
because this is the first time we've ever branched
outside of Utah.
So LoveLoud's been around for six years
and the five previous years we were just focusing on Utah,
high suicide rates, especially among LGBTQ youth.
We wanted to make sure that we understood what we were doing,
do it right, and we got to a really great place.
So this year is very important because we're branching out
to D.C. and Texas and more cities to come.
Thank you so much. So much for your music.
