All right, this guy is always helping me with my motorbike and he's a great guy here at the coffee shop.
We've got our helmets here, so we're gonna get some coffee.
This is some kumtang with rice.
And these ladies are out here on the street barbecuing it up.
So this is right next to the apartment.
Yeah, this is a great breakfast.
Having this for breakfast. It's about, I think, 35,000 đồng.
A few days ago, I moved into a different apartment in the Binh Thanh area of Saigon.
I took my laundry to a
laundry service this afternoon.
Just picked up the laundry and I paid
30,000 vietnamese đồng
which is about $1.25.
So really, really happy about that.
Yeah, $1.25 for my laundry today. I had two button-down shirts.
I had
four t-shirts. I had some underwear, some socks,
a pair of Levi's and a pair of shorts.
They washed everything.
They got everything dry. Now, sometimes in these laundromats, you got to be careful.
Sometimes they don't get things completely dry. I think part of it's the humidity,
but everything was completely dry. Really happy with the service and for $1.25, just can't really beat it.
And this fellow here, he's got a barbershop, give you a haircut and a shave if you want.
It's really a nice little neighborhood here in the Binh Thanh district of Saigon.
My apartment entrance is just down this little alleyway,
just 25-30 feet, and then I have a
fingerprint entry.
So hit the fingerprint pad and then this door
opens up
to the ground level, kind of the basement area of this building.
This is the motorbike I'm renting right now. This is a
the Yamaha
125cc.
It's a semi-automatic
and this has been working really well. I pay right at about, I think it's
$65 a month to rent this, so really economical.
But I've got free parking
here in the apartment and
I'll walk upstairs real quick and show you.
Close that door.
So I'm just up one flight of stairs. There is an elevator in the building, but it's so close.
Just take these stairs.
And then I've got a
touchpad here.
Putting my code in and then here I am.
Home sweet home. It's a small studio apartment. I've got to open that up during the day. It's a pretty good-sized window.
And I've got a small bathroom.
A nice shower.
Yeah, this is my place. Excuse the mess. It's kind of just moved in here a couple days ago and
not a lot of room. So I'm not gonna be here very long. So I'm really not gonna pack everything.
But I'll be here the next couple weeks while I finish up my visa
paperwork. I'm gonna do a short
just like a one-day
bus ride to Cambodia to the border.
Get my passport stamped and come back into Vietnam on the business visa.
It's really a torrential downpour right now.
Everybody's got rain jackets on and
kind of waiting for the
rain to slow down, but I'm gonna go on.
Just had a nice ride over to this Highlands Coffee, and that's the heaviest rain I've ever ridden in.
Yeah, pretty intense downpour right now in Ho Chi Minh.
I'm gonna have a hot cup of coffee and get warmed up a little bit.
