Flora Indonesia, Papua region
The condition of the flora region in Papua
is a region located in the easternmost position of Indonesia
including the islands of Papua itself,
then Hermahera to the island of Aru
The flora in this region is included in a humid area
with high rainfall,
just like in western Indonesia
Tropical forests in Papua have a uniqueness,
which is always covered by fog
This indicates that the forest on the island
has a high level of humidity
The first special flora in Papua
is the eucalyptus tree
It is also called the rainbow tree
because it is colorful
This eucalyptus tree is the same as the eucalyptus tree
in Australia
The leaves and bark of the eucalyptus tree
have a high oil content
so it is easy to burn
Several eucalyptus species
often drop their leaves when they grow
This causes the eucalyptus forest
to be full of dead leaves
In Australia, it is often reported
that many people have eucalyptus leaves
when they grow in the eucalyptus forest
The second special flora in Papua
is the Matua tree or Pometia pinata
It is a flora that is the mascot
of the western Papua province
The Matua tree is easy to cultivate
so its spread has now spread
in various regions in Indonesia
There are two famous Matua species
which are green coconut Matua
with a chewy and dry fruit texture
and purple papeda Matua
with a soft and sticky texture
The third special flora in Papua
is the red fruit or Pandanus canoideus
It is a flora that is the mascot
of the province of Papua
The Papuan people often call it
the Kwanso fruit
It is commonly consumed by the Papuan people
when they burn stones
There are 30 types of red fruit
but there are only 4 high economic values
which are the long red, short red,
yellow red, and brown red
The fourth special flora in Papua
is the Pandanus ceiae
Pandanus ceiae is a fruit
with a thin skin
similar to jackfruit or sukun
with a hard texture
The Papuan people consume Pandanus
directly or burn it first
According to research, Pandanus
has the potential to cure
uric acid and cholesterol
The fifth special flora in Papua
is the Rambunbi
It is also often called the Kepen fruit
by the Papuan people
and not a fruit to be consumed
It has the potential to cure
eye diseases such as rheumatism and cataract
from various sources
by sucking the fiber from the fruit
to the injured eye
The sixth special flora in Papua
is the Pitangur kalopelum
Pitangur is a plant
that grows in a random place in Papua
and is not seasonal
It cannot be consumed or used as medicine
The Pitangur fruit contains oil
that can be used as a fuel
so that when there is a fire in Papua
this fruit can be used
as a fuel for lighting
Those were the examples of the special flora in Papua
and its distribution areas
Thank you for your attention
