A Polish movie nominated for an Oscar has attracted more than 750,000 viewers in just two weeks. The adaptation of Władysław Reymont's 1924 Nobel Prize-winning novel is literally a moving picture, with scenes animated over camera shots. The technique was used in the previous production Your Vincent by Polish filmmakers Breakthru Studio. The movie is a unique picture showing the reality, social problems, traditions and everyday life of Lipce, a village in rural XIX-century Poland.
