'Vanderpump Rules' stars Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz chat with ET's Brice Sander at day 1 of BravoCon in Las Vegas. Sandoval first reacts to getting booed by the crowd during a panel for the show. Then, the two tease what's ahead in season 11 post-Scandoval. Schwartz explains there is 'levity' and 'lightness' in the next season, meanwhile Sandoval explains how he's changed his lifestyle since news broke of his and Rachel Leviss' affair, which ended his 9-year relationship with Ariana Madix.
All right, sunglasses on, a chest tattoo, neck tattoo.
These are just, we're just trying them on, right?
These are not permanent.
I mean, I want to be cool, too.
Yeah, dude.
Stop staging me, per usual.
No, me?
Come on.
But the tats.
Just temp, right?
Yeah, yeah, I'm just trying them out.
Okay.
You just got off stage.
I hear it was a little tense in there.
A little booze was happening.
How did that make you feel?
So warm and fuzzy inside.
You know, when you feel like people hate your existence.
When some guy gets on stage and goes,
so, Tom, you know, why would you come here?
Like, literally nobody wants you here, nobody likes you.
That was a little rough.
Maybe they were using some sort of like
reverse psychology, like, you know,
remember back in the day, like in middle school,
when you like someone, so you're kind of mean to them?
You know what I mean?
You think this guy has a crush on me?
You think that guy has a crush on me?
I don't think so.
Because they love you.
Yes, yeah, there you go.
We also got news that the show's coming back in January.
You've lived it, you've filmed it in the aftermath
of what we know happened.
What do you want the viewers to keep in mind
as they watch it all play out?
Ugh, I don't know, man.
Okay, I guess, man, it was raw.
It was honestly heartfelt.
One of the most passionate seasons, for me at least,
and the stakes were very high.
That sounds cliche, but the stakes were very high.
And I feel like at some point, the pole shifted.
Around the time that the whole affair happened,
there was a magnetic pole shift,
and I kind of feel like-
Switched polarity?
Yeah, I feel like it's kind of coming back to normal.
I feel like we're kind of-
They were worried about that, you know?
December 21st, 2012, when we passed through the equator
of the black hole in the center of the Milky Way,
they were worried about the Earth switching polarity,
but I think the Scandaval did it instead.
Scandaval did it.
Yeah.
This is the new normal now.
What have you learned in everything you've gone through,
and what are you doing differently now, moving forward?
Well, I think I haven't drank.
I'm trying to go through all these times in my life
without drinking, except smoking cigarettes.
I'm not smoking weed, either.
I'm not just getting high every day.
Just sort of taking things in with a clear head.
Really, things like this get you
to appreciate the small things,
like walking into a room and somebody's smiling at you,
saying hi, taking the time to just really appreciate
the little subtleties in life
that sometimes you take for granted.
They're really important, more important than you think.
I think fans are gonna question
how heavy is the season gonna be,
how much of it is going to still live in Scandaval?
What else is there outside of that coming our way?
Go ahead.
Listen, yes, we do work through that.
There's a lot of work.
We, as a group, we've known each other a long time.
We're like a band.
We make up, we break up, we get back together,
we bang each other sometimes.
But I kind of feel like, and you know I'm idealistic, Bryce,
it wasn't perfect, but by the end,
I kind of feel like we got the band back together.
A little bit.
Oh, maybe.
Maybe a couple outliers?
We had a transformative trip.
I won't say where it is.
But after that, I felt like things got a little lighter.
There was more levity, and I love levity.
Has anyone asked you what you think of that name,
that Scandaval?
How do you feel about it?
Oh, it's just a name.
I mean, really, that's nothing compared
to all the other things that came along with it.
I mean, you know.
I think it's become tired now.
People are tired of saying it.
But I think it's gonna be really fun
for the audience to watch us as a group,
and the chasm we've put in the group,
sort of try to just bring ourselves back together,
you know?
