The video I post Let's get started
We all know that confidence
is not always innate Some
of us like me need to force
our confidence to show
Come out Well first of all
we don't have a choice At
the same time because that is one of the ways we ca
Win their heart during the interview
Did you know that
your confidence and
the way you speak it's not about
the pronunciation or
being so grammatically
elligent or sounding like an
American That's not what I'm exactly
talking about My point is the way
you converse with the interviewer
Really really matters And a
lot of people often overlook
that While some others
overanalyze it to the point tha
It's like they already ate their food
We are going to talk about
what really matters and that goes
back before the day of
e interview So let's do it one by one
Let me just say that confidence
is not just about the way
you deliver your words but
Also about how you appear in front
of the console or
the person who will
interview you Confidence comes from
being prepared and knowing what to do
On the day of your interview
The very first thing that you need to make sure
is to double-check all your requirements
You need to do it over and over
again and over and over again
Even if you're just from Manila and you're going to do the interview
Still make sure that you're not
too confident It's really best
to double check You also need
to re-read the email instructions
Check your confirmation email If you 've
already scheduled your interview
then you know what that confirmation
email is you know what's in there
And there are really clear
instructions there that you really have
to make sure you follow So just re-
read that and if you forget you can
Have a notepad write down bullet
points of what's being said and
then you can use that bullet point
notepad or notes the next day
Prepare before your interview to
check if everything that's written
or said is what you followed
You also need to file everything
All your papers in a
clear folder Don't put it in a brown folder and put it one by one
It's going to be too messy
Especially I'll tell you
during the interview even if you
seem confident you'll really
lose your rhythm
Because you're nervous
So it's best to file your folder
ahead of time The folder I used
It's kind of like this I didn't prepare it
It has my BIR stuff
So there it's like this
Clear the folder Just
insert your papers there and
it's easy to tell which
one you need to show them
And of course don't include
things in it that aren 't part of the interview so you won't get confused
Organize your folder ahead of time
It's so easy to overlook but you
really have to prepare everything
before the day As in everything
From head toe and as in everything
What I did was
I prepared my clothes
the shoes I'm going to wear
what folder I'm going to bring with me
I put my clear folder
in a clear envelope
so it's easy for me to
Keep my eye on my documents
Also when you get there it's easier
for them to see what you're carrying
Because they'really going to check
very carefully whatever you're carrying
with you because there are also prohibitions That's also one of the things
That you have to remember There
are prohibitions like phone headset
and digital watch So it's best for
you to just bring your requirements
and leave everything else
Where you live or with a friend
who is waiting for you from nearby
or if you're staying at a hotel
Leave it there nearby then
just put it somewhere safe
because those things can't be
brought inside Wait a minute
And then of course you have
to go to bed early and
wake up early I know that if you're too nervous it's hard to sleep
But it's very very
important to stay alert
and of course so you won't forget anything
So of course if you sleep late your memory could
have a little gap here and
there Also if you sleep
You wake up late and then you 'll
be late for
your interview and all that sort of stuff But don't sleep too early
Because you might get sleepy during your interview
Just enough you have to be there 15
minutes before your interview schedule
because if things
get ruined before
The interview it's hard to be confident
You're thinking a lot
you're feeling a lot
That's it This is another thing you have to
keep in mind during a
US Embassy interview They
You must wear at least semi-
formal or really presentable
clothes Presentability is
not about being fashionable
but it's about you know
being modest and wearing the
proper clothing as you would
wear during a formal eve
A job interview but it's not
to the point that you're wearing
corporate So at least semi-formal or something similar
I believe they won't let
you enter the US Embassy
if you're wearing slippers or sandals I'm no
100% sure about the sandals but just to be
safe just wear shoes Don 't
wear mini-skirts or
Sleeveless tops
I was wearing a red blouse
with sleeves up to here and then
a long skirt and then I also wore
Shoes so that was very comfortable
for me And talking about comfort
you have to be comfortable in what you're wearing because you don'
I want to think a lot you're
feeling a lot you're nervous
and then you're always needing
to fix whatever you're wearing
So that's just extra trouble
And this one is very very important
Review your DS-160 form
answers before the interview
Before the day of your interview
days before you go
into the interview
or days before you fly to Manila
if you're far from the embassy or
If you're from outside of
Manila make sure that you
review your DS-160 form answers and be consistent about it
