hey everyone and welcome to another what I eat in a day as a raw vegan. Over the past two years
I've been sharing countless of raw vegan inspired what I eat in a days on instagram and they've been
getting millions of views so I thought why not share these videos here on youtube where I can
actually give you some tips and tricks because the videos can be much longer. So yeah today I want to
show you what I eat in a day and take you along on a day with me here in beautiful Mallorca right
now. The season is just starting for the melons and they are of incredible quality if you find
the right ones and this is what I'm going to have for breakfast now. Before I cut them open and eat
them I actually thought why not share with you how to actually find a good melon. I will make a
separate in-depth video but I thought I quickly share a couple tips. So with all melons except
watermelons they should be soft so what you can do is just press press into them and if they give in
that's a great sign a great first sign. The second sign is where they are attached to the vine where
they grow. On the opposite side you can actually smell them and if they smell sweet that's another
amazing sign and usually you know when you go into the supermarket the smell is only very slight
unless you know you are in a country where they actually grow like here where I'm fortunate enough
to have amazing quality melons. In Germany usually in the supermarket they don't smell so the only
thing I can go after is if they are soft or not and then you can also go by the sound so I will
come a little bit closer you hear that it's kind of it sounds damp if that is the right word it
shouldn't sound like you would knock on wood or something it should sound like it is soft inside
but if you knock on a watermelon you don't want that sound because obviously if the watermelon
would be soft inside then it's mushy and then it's you know over it's on it's overripe and it's
it's bad. Just to give you an idea on how a watermelon should sound like
you hear that and now the difference of a peel this apple for example so again all melons except
watermelons should sound should be soft and should also sound soft when you knock on them and a bonus
would be if they also smell good that was delicious so the beautiful thing here is the
Beate the woman I'm staying with she is my client and also now turning into a good friend
she bought this land and just moved here recently and this part of the land has actually been
abandoned for over 20 years at least 20 years and I can just come here and basically chuck
all the waste here and of course it would be more efficient to have an actual compost pile
where you know all the food waste gets composted and that hopefully will be installed sometime in
the future but because she just moved here recently there are many other things she has
to manage but she's open to the idea of creating a food forest out of this abandoned land which I
would be super grateful and super excited about if that is what she did would would decide in the
future because there is so much literally so much potential here for this land the land is it's
really dry in summer it gets super hot and the soil is not the best but with the right techniques
you could turn this into a beautiful food forest and there are already some trees like you can see
here this this fig tree so yeah for now she's focused on other things but maybe in the future
there will be a beautiful food forest here quite a few hours have passed actually and I worked on
a computer quite a lot preparing stuff for coaching creating new content for social media
and for my clients and I'm now going to fuel up with a few apricots and actually more
peel this apple and I like to switch it up sometimes I like to eat it with a spoon
and now I'm just going to yeah eat these small pieces with my hands yes sometimes I like to eat
with my hands too so good oh wow even the apricots are quite good it's impossible to get them this
good even though they are not fully ripe but they are still sweet juicy delicious honestly so good
okay it's dinner time and we are having a taco night today so we have the carrot
sunflower seed taco meat this one is uh we have we use some curry powder because I didn't have
cumin and a couple other spices but this is absolutely delicious this is just a mix of
red pepper tomato and cucumber and red onion and then we have a cashew sour cream
and for the tacos we are using some lettuce bolts and this is what it looks like
and I'm going to attempt to bite into it now it's always a bit messy
but I think we can make it work buon appetito
