“Xbox Series X|S 2022 Console Sales Grow In Europe, Other Platforms Down On 2021. 2022 current-gen console sales data is now coming out of Europe as we head into the new year, and the numbers provide some pretty interesting reading. According to GamesIndustry.biz, Xbox Series X|S sales in 2022 were up 4.4% over 2021, making it the only platform to grow last year. It's worth noting that these sales figures don't include Germany or the UK.
Both the Sony PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch sold worse last year than in 2021 - a drop of 35% and 15% respectively. Overall console sales across all three major platforms were down a notable 25% on 2021's data. All of this sounds like a pretty big win for Xbox though, right? Well, sort of. It's good news to see Xbox Series X and S sales grow in 2022, but across Europe, Xbox still remains in third place overall.”

“Ubisoft+ could launch on Xbox soon, Microsoft Store activity suggests. Ubisoft+ was announced for Xbox consoles this time last year, and since then, we haven't heard much about it. Now, it looks like Ubisoft and Xbox could be gearing up to launch the subscription service as a selection of games from the publisher have been updated with a special Ubisoft+ tag that reads "with your Ubisoft+ membership" on the Microsoft Store's back end. So far, our scanners have picked up a list of 24 Ubisoft games with the Ubisoft+ tag, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Riders Republic. Interestingly, Ubisoft games already included in Game Pass, such as Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Far Cry 5, Rainbow Six Extraction, and others, do not appear to have been tagged as Ubisoft+ games on the store. It's possible that these games might not be included with Ubisoft+ due to existing deals with Microsoft for Game Pass. However, it could simply be that these games, and many, many more, are yet to be updated with the tag. If we spot any more games with the Ubisoft+ tag behind the scenes, we'll update this list.”

“Ubisoft Cancels Three 'Unannounced Games', Delays Skull & Bones Again. Ubisoft has posted a new financial report detailing its current fiscal year results, whilst also looking ahead to the next financial period for the company. The report contains some pretty big info drops on the team's upcoming slate of games, although the news isn't particularly positive.
Let's get this part out of the way real quick - Ubisoft has delayed Skull & Bones once again. Recently pushed back to March 2023 from a previous late 2022 release, the game will now launch on Xbox sometime between April 2023 and March 2024, providing it doesn't see another delay. In other news, the company has also cancelled three games internally; games the public wasn't even aware of until this report. The reasoning behind these cancellations, apparently, is to focus on "building our brands and live services into some of the most powerful within the industry".
There is some positive news tucked in here for Ubisoft fans though, regarding upcoming games that may actually see the light of day. The company says it has a selection of premium games in the works that haven't been announced yet, including "a large one”:”
