Explained subjective terms in less than 120 seconds.
Today, black pedagogy.
The term of black pedagogy goes back to Katerina Rutschki.
Katerina Rutschki shaped it in the 1970s and thus describes a pedagogy
which is shaped by violence, intimidation and humiliation of the child.
This includes physical, i.e. physical violence in the form of beatings,
but also psychological violence in the form of the aforementioned intimidation, humiliation,
emotional repression by the withdrawal of affection, closeness, care,
up to the complete ignoring of the child.
Alice Miller describes black pedagogy as follows.
Under black pedagogy, I understand an education that is aimed at breaking the will of the child,
to do it with the help of open or hidden exercise of power, manipulation and repression for obedient submission.
Until the 19th century, these educational methods were absolutely commonplace.
At that time, it was about suppressing the child's nature, suppressing any creativity, fantasy, playfulness of the child.
The child was seen as an incomplete person who only has a quality when he is an adult.
The consequences of these educational methods are fatal.
To name just a few, the child does not get to know himself, has no access to his own true feelings,
because they would have to be suppressed.
The competence of empathy can be very difficult to learn in these educational methods, depending on intensity and duration.
In addition, the children learn that their own opinion does not count, or that it is very dangerous to express it,
because if it does not correspond to the opinion of the authority, it is punished.
The child is not in a position to express criticism, let alone to view things critically.
And above all, the rejection of any individuality and diverse character structures of a person is evidently bad for the human psyche.
Suppressing and paralyzing elementary needs can lead to severe mental illness.
Now, of course, the question arises as to why people, children, do this method at all.
There are probably several reasons for this.
To name just a few, the adult person thinks they would harden children and prepare them for the hard life.
Among other things, the parent, who carries out this educational method, is written to the intention
that they increase themselves through the power of exercises against the child.
The adult person does not know better, has not experienced any other treatment in education and has never reflected on this.
The adult person does not want to deal seriously with the child
and can thus make the child a subject to follow as stress-free as possible.
