Hello everyone, welcome to the channel, welcome to this video
It resonates a little bit, simply because I am in Sakara
In this absolutely incredible underground complex
which is the Serapeum
Today I take the opportunity to be here to share with you a recapitulative video
To really see what we know technically
Because I had shared several videos on the channel over the years
But today I thought I might make a synthesized version
Which will be more digestible and nicer to watch
So what are we going to see together?
We will see how many tanks there are
We will see what they look like on the inside
Because in 2020 I had the chance to look at them in detail with the electronic microscope
We will also see how, thanks to these electronic microscopes
We can find small traces of clothing on the tanks that have been polished
And we will also see what their weight is
Because officially they are said to weigh between 70 and 100 tons
But know that this is not the case at all
In 2018, with my friend Tony from the Mysteria channel
Who I greet of course
We came here to measure the weight of 4 full tanks
And we were able to determine that they do not weigh 100 tons
For once, we are below the official weight
And that we are rather around 50 tons
And it will also be the occasion in this video
To share with you the weight in detail of the 4 tanks that we could measure at the time
So I'm absolutely sure it's a video that will delight you
And before I join the group to continue the visit of Saqqara and Dahshur today
I take this opportunity to also tell you that if you want to join the next trip here in Egypt
You can find the link in the description
To have all the information, date, itinerary, etc.
But for now, the tanks of the Serapeum, let's go!
Or this one will not please
This video I think it will not please
And it may not please the vast majority of you
And maybe, it's a risk I take
It may please the more academic people
Why ? Because we are going to talk about polishing
In the last video, we saw that the polishing had been completed by a coating
But in this video, we will worry about polishing before the application of the coating
To do this, we will go into a tank, perhaps the most famous, and for good reason
In the Serapeum, you know that there are many tanks with, without trunks, etc.
Trunks that have moved
But there is a tank that was exploded with dynamite in the 1850s
Shortly after its discovery by Auguste Mariette in 1852
51, 52, whatever
Besides, we have already entered these tanks a few times with the groups
I even shared photos and images on the channel or on the Facebook page
But today, we are still going to enter this same tank
That I present to you a little bit like that now
With the flashlight so that you can see
That you immerse yourself a little bit in the atmosphere of this underground complex
But as I will show you on these images
Well, you will see that what we usually think about the shaping of the Serapeum
Whether it is molding or slightly developed technologies
Or simply techniques that today remain unknown or misunderstood
Well, we will see that in the end it was perhaps much more rustic than we thought
In any case, it is only on this small part of the sarcophagus that we were able to analyze with the electronic microscope
So inside this sarcophagus, it shines, it's really polished
It's like a mirror, as you can see on this image
But where we put the microscope, I confess to you my friends, I was absolutely stunned
Because the traces, as you can see on the images that I now share with you
The traces are all azimuth, in all directions
There is no coherence, there is no direct line of any tool
Whether it is manual, not manual, manual but helped by a system, a mechanism or other
There we are really in all directions
What makes you think, and this is the amazing thing, which will please you and which pleased me when I read it
It reminds me of a hand polishing where we went in all directions
With sand, with other techniques that are perhaps other than the ones we usually think of
Well, it's still a little annoying
Annoying simply because it makes you dream less
But the line of intellectual honesty that I impose on myself on the channel
Obliges me of course to share this with you because it is something essential
But still, it is clear that we do not have a successful, recurring technique
Not robotized, I don't want to say that, but let's say automated
Whether it is the tool itself or the hand helped by a complement
Like the transhumanism version, egyptological stone cutting
But what I mean is that we have traces that leave little doubt about the manual rubbing
Where we are really in all directions to be able to get this polish
Are these movements that gave these traces that allowed to have the current polish
Which is still at an absolutely incredible level
I don't know, we can't say it
But still, these traces are there
And they constitute one more element that must be integrated
To be able to articulate it with other elements that we see on the site
Which, in the end, I hope, will allow to bring a not more complete answer
But a beginning of an answer
Or at least to provide a slightly more exhaustive vision of the Serapeum when we go there
Because it is a major, essential site of our past, of the past of ancient Egypt
But which, I don't know why, is very little analyzed
And on which, finally, we find quite little reading, whether in the official or in the alternative
Today is the beginning of the Serapeum project
So the Serapeum project, what is it?
We are going to measure all the tanks
So all the tanks is the project
But I'm going to show you a little bit of the docs that Tony prepared
And that we are going to use to the full extent of this whole day
In which we will try to move forward
And, how would I say, towards the breakthrough?
Can we say that? Towards the breakthrough of the mysteries of the Serapeum
First, we have the full plan of all the tanks
So we go in here
And then, in fact, we have a little catastrophe, as we say at home
No, what do you say?
A panoramic view
A panoramic view in which we have the 24 tanks like this
With dimensions cover
I turn the camera
Angle cover
And then the same thing for the tanks
So the dimensions of the tanks
And the angles
On the other hand, I warn you
We calculated that it would take an average of 20 minutes per tank
To be able to measure them all
Given what to do to measure a tank
I think it's absolutely impossible
So already if we can measure half
We will already be pretty good
And what he does too
I have no idea how and what I will be able to film
During the day of measurement
But I will still try to bring you a lot of images
To immerse you in the heart of the Serapeum project
There is also the GoPro that Tony has behind that I brought
I'm going to put it on my forehead
In total immersion when we go inside all the tanks to measure them
There are some measurements that we are not sure to be able to obtain
I will try to explain it
But here we go
The valiant heart
It's already not bad
Advienne only for one
165
So how much?
1665
To see the height
A little zoom
So first little problem
Because here the edges are so deteriorated
That we can not measure
Unfortunately
For what is the lid
How are you Tony?
We will still do the height
Which is the G length
For the middle edge it was 1.20m
Pile
1.200
So this is the N edge on the diagram
I don't know if it's 1m or not
In addition you checked the measurement
You measured it twice
I double all the measurements each time
So 1m
1.000m
But where it gets complicated
It's 9.20am
We arrived at 8.15am on the first tank
When we just finished
And indeed it was a little complex to measure
But it still means that we took an hour for a tank
While we were counting all the tanks today
So Tony you will come back
It looks good
The poly is quite amazing
We see that it is not flat
With the reflection
But the reflection is quite crazy
Slightly raised
It will be raised
What measure?
You see me there?
Wait
The height of that
Ah okay
Oh shit
How many we had on the other side?
The very last measure
Wait what is this?
For the other tank?
0.508
For the other tank
I think we had 0.508
And here we have 0.517
0.508 yes
I think there is a centimeter more
Because it is raised
I think we fall to 0.507
We have to put the stopper
Can you pass the stopper please?
Yes I pass it
I cut it, can you film it from above?
Do you want me to put the stopper?
No not at all, it's just to attest
That we finished the measures of the second tank
Jump
Yes it works
Well seen the wave
I think we can not go to the bottom
The lid takes all the ...
Ah no maybe not
In any case the stops are ...
This is the one
I do not know if you remember
On the back side of the tank
There is a kind of round recess in the middle
Inside?
No on the other side
A kind of little pin
Do you recognize the tank?
Yes I know it well
Yes that's what I was talking about
Well let's go
It's good I have it
Let's see what it gives
Well there is only the length of the lid
And the width of the lid
Side corridor
And then we will have finished this third tank
Come on fourth tank
Ah that's good it will not be painful
I put the mess and we attack the fourth tank
Here is the first small interruption
Of the measures
I hope the last
Indeed
Because now we are told that we have to go see
Mr. Sabri
To fill papers to be able to continue the measures
Besides we made a very nice
Meeting in the Serapeum
Of French living in Alexandria
So if you are on the channel and you watch the video
Well we greet you
It was very nice to have exchanged with you for a few moments
So apparently they decided unilaterally
That we were going to go up with the French
That we met in the Serapeum
Because they will drop us off at 200 meters at the end of the road
Well I do not know too much
It's a bit the fair
It's nonsense
I go up behind you
Sorry
Hop
It's very good I'm very ugly
No one approaches
At least 2 centimeters
Hi Tony
Where are you?
I'm here
Subscribe
Ah we are
So they each time
Reposed a little bit the problem
Because we from the beginning we had more or less understood
But we asked the right questions
And instead of giving us the right answers
Each time they put in touch
By saying no but we will talk to stuff
He will give you permission and then
Ah no we have to talk to stuff
He will give you permission
And so on and so on
Except that it was just windmills
There are people there
It is an eternally persistent operation
According to which the cubes of the Serapeum
Weigh up to 100 tons
Of course that they weigh 50 or 100
Does not remove anything from the heart of the problem
Which is the logistics
Allowing the size, the transport
And the installation of these tanks
At nearly 10 meters underground
However we will see now
Where this false belief comes from
And I can guarantee you that it will surprise more than one
Also a little later
You will see exclusively at the end of the video
The real weight of one of the largest cubes
Contrasting weight
With the official speech
But you will see that it differs
But not in the way you can imagine
In this funerary complex
Where 64 mummies of sacred bulls
Have been placed in wooden sarcophagi
During all the dynasties
Having recovered the site
The remains dating from a pre-dynastic era
Excite many people
For once these are not the alternatives
Although I do not like the term alternative
Because it is very reductive
And relatively galvanized
By the delusions of a handful of
Fantastic egocentric
So for once these are not the alternatives
Which exaggerate or advance elements
Like truths
Which have never been verified
This belief according to which
These tanks weigh up to 100 tons
Dates from the time of the rediscovery of the site
By Auguste Mariette in the middle of the 19th century
Indeed in his book
The Serapeum of Memphis dating from 1857
Auguste Mariette details
The finds made in the Serapeum
Finds among which
A whole bunch of statuettes
And burials of bulls
Obviously there is also the mention
Of the fantastic tanks which question us
And which are still full of mystery
But on the 114 pages of his book
Surprisingly there is only a tiny mention
Of these tanks
And it is this mention precisely
From which the extrapolation of the tanks
At 100 tons started
Because unless it is
A confidential source
No one really
Went to this big tank measuring company
To publish results
You will see it in a moment
The results we found are very far from reality
Advanced by Mariette himself
So first let's recall the terms
The precise terms used by Mariette
Which since then have been accepted
By all
Quote
As for the sarcophagus
Of the finest granite
In front of the greatness of which
We are truly astonished
They are 12 to 14 feet high
15 to 16 feet long
And the smallest of them
Does not weigh less than 65,000 kg
In short, this part of the tomb
Is by far the most beautiful, the most ornate
The one that bears the most of the favor
Which Apis enjoyed, etc, etc
So this is what Mariette tells us
Which already tells us only about granite
While we find other tanks made of basalt
And now let's go into detail
In what you have probably been waiting for
Since the beginning of the video
That is to say, the measurements of one of the tanks
One of the largest tanks of the Serapeum
I say one of the largest tanks because
Indeed in its text Mariette gives 65 tons
For one of the smallest
One of the smallest
I will show you a picture of it right away
And you will see that it is really rich
Compared to the vast majority of other tanks
Which are gigantic
Compared to this one
This is the picture of this tank
The tank number 14
The tank number 14 is located at the end of the Serapeum corridor
Near the one that is
The best known of all
Surrounded almost entirely
By hieroglyphs
So without further ado
Here are these measurements in detail
We see that we are very very far
From the measurements given by Auguste Mariette
But of course this does not take away
Nothing from the myth of the Serapeum
From the mystery that surrounds the Serapeum
The beauty of the Serapeum
Which is perhaps one of the sites of Egypt
The most mysterious
And which is very close to the Great Pyramid of Cheops
Which occupies
The highest point of the Serapeum
The Serapeum
Of course
Today in the video
We are going to talk about polishing
Polishing
With an ink
It is true that on other tanks
We can also see this kind of polish
Of brilliance
But we can't get close
And around this tank
We see the first thing
on the tank was done in a very rustic way compared to the level of elaboration of the tank itself.
But beyond that, we also see that these hieroglyphs are carved on the poly, that is to say that where there is no hieroglyph, there is the poly.
If the poly had been put after the hieroglyphs, we would see it a little bit in the sizes and where the stone is apparent following the size.
So of course, the question that everyone is asking is what is this poly, this kind of epoxy, in short, we don't really know what it is.
So I'll tell you right away, we didn't analyze this poly, simply because on the one hand it is forbidden to make wild samples like that,
and on the other hand, for there to be any legitimacy to the results, the sampling protocol must also be inspected and validated.
So without an official person to work on it, it was almost useless to analyze the poly.
But on the other hand, what we were able to do is to approach it, to touch it with the eyes in detail, really with an electronic microscope.
And on the lid of the sarcophagus or this box, this huge box, we have this poly.
And as we look below, we see, as when we pour a glass of water on a table, the water will flow on the slice, then it will drip below and then it will fall to the ground.
When we walk under the lid of the box, there are a few places where we can really see it.
We see it with the naked eye, it is quite obvious as you can see on these images, on the images that we were able to bring back.
But the most interesting thing was really to see it up close.
It does not advance the schmilbli that I would say in terms of composition of the plaster, a plaster that has now held for thousands and thousands of years, at least 3,500 years.
But what is interesting is to see that this idea of plaster is not a delirium that came out of nowhere.
So I show it to you in pictures as you can see.
So we have this plaster.
Moreover, there are images where we can clearly see that at the same time we have the end of the plaster and the black which is at the bottom which simply represents the space around the room because it is at the edge of the lid.
So when we walk like that a little bit below, when we inspect, we can see very clearly, it is indisputable that this plaster, I don't know if it has flowed, I don't know if it has been applied in a slightly random way to just say,
well, we do the whole slice and we put a little bit below, but still, here it is for you in exclusivity, this plaster that we had never seen to my knowledge so close.
And of course, we will thank Thierry and Claude who contributed to this beautiful adventure to be able to bring back these images taken with the electronic microscope.
And we can see very clearly on the images that there is half a tank inside which has this plaster and the other which remained raw.
There too, on the other hand, I cannot tell you, we cannot commit, of course, regarding the fact that the two plasters are the same.
Are they contemporary? We don't know, because in this case, it would simply be necessary to test them both and compare and confront the two compositions.
We cannot do it, but in any case, it is something very interesting and which, I think, once again, is not shown in a general way concerning the Serapeum.
