Hello everyone, I'm Thuan. Welcome back to my channel.
Today's video will be a topic that moms have been sending me a lot.
That is the topic of eating slowly.
I don't know if you feel the same as me when you first become a mom.
When I was preparing to eat slowly, I felt very excited because I was about to enter a very important stage of development.
But at the same time, I also felt quite nervous and worried.
I didn't know if I was cooperating or not.
At that time, I didn't have any knowledge about eating slowly.
So I had to go to Google and search for a lot of information.
For example, what is eating slowly?
When did you start eating slowly?
What books do you read about eating slowly?
Currently, Binance has been around for more than 8 and a half months.
And to sum up, Binance has been cooperating quite a lot during the process of eating slowly from the beginning until now.
I can eat almost any food and I don't get bored of eating any food.
Even when it comes to foods that I don't like to eat, such as onions or purple sweet potatoes, Binance can eat them normally.
Binance's daily appetite is still very balanced.
There is no sign of anemia or diarrhea.
If you look deeper, you will know that during the eating period, there will be a period called physiological change.
It will last about 8-9 months to 10-11 months.
Currently, I don't see any signs of physiological change in Binance.
Maybe that period hasn't come yet.
In general, I will update the situation for everyone to continue in the following videos.
And today's video will be the first video in the Binance eating slowly series.

So what is eating slowly?
To put it simply, eating slowly is the period when the baby changes from a completely milk-based diet to a diet with other foods other than milk by chewing and swallowing.
Because from 6 months on, the baby's body will start to need other nutrients from other foods.
But if it's just breast milk or formula milk, it's not enough to meet the baby's development needs.
I see a slight misunderstanding of some mothers that eating slowly is just for fun.
Under 1 year old, milk is still the main nutrient.
But in fact, under 1 year old, the baby still needs nutrients from milk.
However, the amount of milk will gradually decrease when the amount of food the baby eats in the body gradually increases with the development of the baby.
One more thing that everyone needs to pay attention to is that in eating slowly, the baby is practicing chewing and swallowing,
practicing getting used to new flavors and eating patterns,
helping the baby's digestive system to gradually improve and the baby's appetite to develop more.
At the same time, it is also an extremely important process to create a foundation for the baby to have a good eating habit later.
The next question makes mothers very confused, that is, how old is the baby when he starts eating slowly?
According to the documents I have read, the baby is about 4-6 months old.
The baby will have some signs of being ready for eating slowly as follows.
The first is that the baby is able to keep his head straight or called stiff neck.
That is, the baby's head is not tilted.
The second is that the baby can sit still or the baby can sit when the mother's support or the support of the baby.
The third is that the baby's weight has doubled, the baby's weight when he was born was at least 5.9 kg.
The fourth is that the baby's tongue reflexes are gradually decreasing.
And people start to see the baby's actions like chewing, swallowing, and pushing his tongue back.
And the fifth is that the baby is very curious and excited when he sees the adult eating.
Even the baby can use his hands to pick up food on the adult's hand.
Those are the 5 basic signs that show that the baby is ready for eating slowly.
According to some other documents I have read, the World Health Organization and WHO also recommend that the baby should start eating slowly when he is about 6 months old.
Because this is the time when most babies are ready to taste food and taste strange flavors.
At the same time, at this time, the baby has met all the conditions that I have just mentioned.
Some mothers will wonder if giving the baby to eat earlier, such as 4 months or 5 months, is it okay?
In the documents I have read, there are clear risks that can be met.
The first risk is that the baby will be less full.
For direct parents, it will lead to a reduction in the production of breast milk.
And this can lead to malnutrition in some cases.
Because 6 months ago, breast milk or formula milk was the main source of nutrition and most suitable for the baby's uterus.
Some mothers can give the baby more flour or more food than necessary.
This leads to the fact that the baby's uterus cannot absorb all these foods.
The second problem is that at this time, the baby's tongue reflex is still quite strong.
So when parents feed the baby, the baby will use his tongue to push the spoon out in a reflex.
This leads to the fact that parents think that the baby does not cooperate with eating and does not accept food.
The third is that for completely 4-month-old babies, there is a reduction in the risk of malnutrition.
The fourth risk is that babies under the age of 6 will be more likely to be malnourished.
If the baby is infected with a virus or a virus from food outside.
If you still want to give the baby an early reduction of about 5-5.5 months,
you should only give the baby 1-2 spoons to get used to it to avoid the risks I just mentioned.
At the same time, everyone must closely monitor the situation with the baby's food.
After carefully examining the information and the advice of the doctors that I often take the baby to the hospital,
I decided to choose the 6-month-old baby as the starting point for the reduction of malnutrition.
Everyone should remember not to let the baby start malnutrition after 7 months.
Currently, there are 3 popular methods of malnutrition, which are traditional malnutrition, Japanese malnutrition, and baby malnutrition.
I will summarize in a very simple and easy-to-understand way so that mothers who are starting to learn about these malnutrition methods can easily imagine.
Traditional malnutrition is a malnutrition method that the baby will start with eating flour and then gradually eating porridge.
The food will be ground very soft, mixed together, cooked with bone broth or vegetable broth.
The baby will eat like that until 1-2 years old and the family will feed the baby.
The porridge will be ground until 3 years old.
With this malnutrition method, the baby will be fed by adults.
Japanese malnutrition will be divided into stages and according to a process of gradually increasing the level of food.
Stage 1 is about 5-6 months, the baby will start with porridge, ratio 1-10, and vegetables.
These dishes will be put separately into each dish and the baby will eat separately, not mixed together like traditional malnutrition.
This method will help the baby feel the natural taste of the food better and the baby's taste buds will develop better.
The level of food will be gradually increased when the baby moves to stage 2, 7-8 months.
And when it reaches stage 3, 9-11 months, the level of food increases and reaches stage 4.
From 1 year old, the baby can eat soft rice and dishes close to adults.
In the Japanese malnutrition method, stage 1 and 2, the baby will be fed by adults.
After stage 3, when the level of food increases in accordance with the baby's skills, the baby will be encouraged to eat.
And at stage 4, the baby will be fed with a spoon.
The last method is the baby control malnutrition method.
In this method, the baby will start when he is 6 months old or a little later when he has all the signs ready for baby control malnutrition.
In this method, the baby will choose the food to put in his mouth and the baby will decide how much to eat.
For this malnutrition method, the baby will eat raw food right from the start.
And the baby will use his hands to scoop up food until he gets used to it and starts to use a spoon.
As well as stage 4 Japanese malnutrition.
From 1 year old, the baby can eat food close to adults.
After understanding the three methods of eating malnutrition, people will wonder where to start eating malnutrition.
Which food is suitable for the baby? How much food does the baby eat?
Shab will be an inseparable companion during this period of malnutrition.
For traditional malnutrition, there will be a manual for eating malnutrition of the mother.
Simply, Dr. Le Thi Hai.
This manual is written in the form of short questions about eating malnutrition.
All the questions of the mothers are in this manual.
For example, how does the mother train the baby?
Let the baby sit or lie down to eat.
When the baby starts to eat malnutrition, should the baby eat sweet or salty powder?
During the malnutrition period, should the baby give birth or eat?
Why shouldn't the baby eat raw food that is too hard for the baby's ability?
Or should the baby eat salty food like adults?
Why shouldn't the mother force the baby to eat?
There are a lot of questions.
In this book, there are all the answers.
For Japanese malnutrition, I think there are two pretty good books.
The first book is Japanese Malnutrition by the author.
This book is about malnutrition and health.
It is currently the head of the Department of Malnutrition of the Institute of Research on Children and Japanese Families.
In the book, it is very clear about each stage of Japanese malnutrition.
How much food is suitable for the baby according to the age of the month.
There are also food recipes for each stage.
At the back of the book, there is also a list of foods that the baby can eat according to the age of the month.
You can follow this page.
The second book is also about Japanese malnutrition.
It is the book about eating malnutrition without tears.
I think it's pretty good.
The author is a Vietnamese mother living in Japan.
So the books are quite simple and easy to understand.
This book focuses a lot on food recipes for each stage.
Mothers are very easy to follow.
If you choose the Japanese malnutrition method, I think you should buy both of these books.
Finally, there is a book called Malnutrition is not a war.
This book has a lot of information.
If you choose this method, please read this book carefully.
Malnutrition is divided into stages according to the level of the baby's skills.
Stage 1 is skill practice.
Stage 2 is skill development.
Stage 3 is skill completion.
The book also explains which foods are suitable for which stage.
Mothers' questions about feeding the baby early,
and the baby's diarrhea,
are all mentioned and explained very clearly in this book.
At the same time, there are also very good recipes in the book that everyone can follow.
So this video has answered the mother's questions about what malnutrition is,
when to give the baby malnutrition,
current malnutrition methods, and which books to read for malnutrition.
Among the three malnutrition methods,
each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
No method is optimal for all babies.
So I think everyone should follow the baby's personality,
family culture, and mother's convenience
to choose or combine the most suitable methods.
This video is quite long.
I will end the video here.
