Welcome to a very special film and I am very proud to present it here now, to bring you closer and I hope that I can infect some with my enthusiasm.
It all started in 1987. I was again in my favorite video store and did sales.
Yes, old, kneaded rental cassettes were sold between 10 and 50 DM back then.
And so I got this cover in my hands, a cassette from a Mike Hunter video.
And I found it somehow exciting, yes, this girl, this girl's head and in the background this color fleck or blood fleck.
And that interested me and so I bought this rental cassette and watched it.
And although I was very young back then, I was consistently fascinated by the film.
And I never forgot it and waited forever for it to appear in a beautiful presentation on the medium DVD.
That happened then, yes, about 8 years ago, but no nice cover, no good quality.
And so I was very happy that I found a rarity in my hands.
I'll show you the media books now. Until a week ago I could have chosen one between 40 and 100 euros, but I found something better.
What it is and why there are only 33 of them and why I took exactly that, I'll explain to you right now.
But now let's take a look at this film, an original cinema trailer from 1976.
The driver is a young foreigner who can pay for love.
Here they get to know me from a completely new side.
I am 13 years old. I live alone in this house at the end of the street.
Adults don't like that. They whisper to themselves that I do terrible things.
The truth is that terrible things happen to me.
Come into the house at the end of the street, if you dare.
See what I'm going through.
Nobody can help me, not even the police.
Just ask yourself what you would do in my place.
Some of you may have recognized the voice.
Yes, Ute Rohrbeck, the Anne of the Five Friends, says Jodie Foster.
Here you see different media books. I didn't like any of them.
Somehow you also get a wrong impression of the film from the covers.
I almost think the link we just saw is even worse than this.
The information is of course madness.
XT Video, they're doing their job well.
Although I personally know everything about the film.
I find Uncut a cheekiness. The film was never in Cut.
There is nothing to shorten because the film was never from 18.
There are no scenes in this film that would justify that the film is from 18.
That's why it's such a little misleading for film lovers.
Now you see a very nice booklet.
Everything is described about the film, about the backgrounds.
There is a bit of artwork in it.
Here are hangouts from the German cinema.
That the film was probably not good in the cinema here in Germany or that it was well received.
It is reported about the writer.
The novel is really recommendable.
That's what a media book lover wants.
A lot of information, a lot of reading, a lot of backgrounds.
Nevertheless, I decided on something completely different.
Because there was a bit of the retro freak in me.
Let's take a look at that now.
Uncut
It was really pure coincidence.
After a long time I googled again after the film,
if there is a new edition, a better quality.
And so the media books were shown to me from last year.
And also this special edition.
I really just continued to research on the Internet.
And not a single person had this rarity limited to 33 pieces.
In the original Mike Hunter VHS retro edition.
I was so happy when I got this piece of jewelry.
And I also have this retro feeling of a video cassette again.
Above was then Mike Hunter to HCE.
But otherwise the quality of this packaging,
the artwork 1 to 1 like the video from back then.
I thought for a moment whether I should get a media book.
But after I saw this here and the purchase came about,
I immediately returned the media book.
And I did not regret it either.
And I'm actually happy every day, still every day,
when I look at this beautiful piece.
And then it's back on the shelf and I look at it every day.
A special film with beautiful moments, with tragedy, with horror.
So a very large piece of cinema that unfortunately did not get much attention.
And now only in recent years it has advanced to the cult film.
I hope I have made you a little bit of fun with this masterpiece.
And you are welcome to write whether you know the film,
whether you feel like watching it now.
This is very exciting for me.
So, hit the keys!
