Enter in casa e senti, lavami, mettimi in ordine, spolverami, leggimi, buttami, stirami, usami.
These are all messages from the things we have around us that create an invisible list of things to do,
things we have to do.
And where we don't turn, there is something that tells us to do something.
It is this that sometimes creates this feeling of being overwhelmed by our environment or a state of anxiety or agitation.
The things in my house that speak to me at this moment are
this plant that tells me every day that I have to make cutlery that is too big and heavy,
this shelf with the too small things of the child that must be put away,
this corner here that has become a collection of random things.
They could be the books on the shelf that say read me, or the clothes in the closet, wear me because you bought me,
or the sports equipment, use me, didn't you say you wanted to start training?
These are obviously our involuntary thoughts caused by what we see around us.
So in addition to our normal list of things to do,
this invisible, silent list of things to do is also added, which does not give us the opportunity to relax properly.
And obviously we often don't even realize it, but it's always there.
I'm Irina and I welcome you to the channel Spazio Grigio.
And it is not enough that there are messages to these thoughts.
We also notice that many of these are negative, which make us feel guilty.
For example, you made unconscious purchases, you don't want to do anything and the house is always in disorder.
You are not really able to do X, Y, Z.
This explains perfectly why, after doing decluttering, the house gives a feeling of peace, it is more relaxing.
Because we put these objects in silence and the house becomes silent.
If you think about it, it is the thing that differentiates the house from the hotel.
When we enter a hotel room, try to imagine it.
There is silence, there is peace, nothing tells us to do anything.
We enter after the trip and take a breath of relief.
Imagine feeling the same thing when we enter the house after a day of work, after a day out on business.
We enter and take a breath of relief.
We can't live all year in a hotel, you might say.
But you can get close to that feeling.
How?
Let yourself be guided by these messages.
Pay attention to all those objects that always communicate something.
Especially if it is negative.
If you never bathe the plants, you could give them away.
If that tin with decorative objects is always full of dust, you could simplify that space by leaving those objects or move them to a closed space.
If every time you look at that picture in the living room with that friend and you think you should call her, but you never do, you could remove that picture.
And the books on the drawer, try to leave only one at a time.
And the drawer of the towels, which is always in disorder, try to keep only those you actually use, of which you need 4 or 6.
I keep two towels per family member and then I have some extra for guests that I keep in a separate space, so not together with everyday things.
So the solution is to simplify some spaces, reduce some objects, remove what is not necessary or does not bring value.
And now let me know, have you ever noticed?
Have you ever noticed these thoughts, messages related to the things around?
Sometimes we are hard on ourselves, we are demanding to be organized, organized, productive.
And we blame ourselves if we can't keep up with all these things, when instead we should simply reduce all these things to do, the surplus.
It's simple math, the less things we have to take care of, the more that invisible list of things to do becomes short.
And this does not impact only us, but also our partners, our children.
Maybe they are not to be disorganized, maybe they are also overwhelmed by the quantity of things.
Children who have too many toys, too many clothes, will not want to put them in order, because it is simply too difficult to do so.
Partners who cannot even understand what is in that pantry or are confused about the quantity of detergents will not be prone to cooking or cleaning.
We deserve to live in a house that helps us do things.
We are more important than things.
I also talked about this topic in my book, Only Beautiful Things, which by now in many of you I am very pleased.
It was sold out, but now it is finally available again, both in bookstores and online.
I leave you the link below if you haven't seen it yet.
And by the way, I just received the news that when the video will be released it will already be official.
Last week it was the best-selling book in Italy.
It is number one in the rankings in the various sections.
It will be on quotidiani, la stampa, il Corriere. It's crazy.
I'll read you a little piece.
When we see too many things around us, continuous and often repetitive thoughts are created.
These thoughts occupy our mind without rest, leaving less space for what really matters.
This is why when you simplify your home, it makes us feel better.
For years I could not understand the reason for this feeling.
Now I know.
Let me know if this concept makes sense for you.
If you liked the video, leave a like, subscribe to the channel and see you in the next video.
Until then, only beautiful things.
Peace.
