David Moyes has been facing the media this morning just hours after West Ham started the Europa League campaign with a win.
Faduma Oluo was speaking to him and joins us now.
Faduma, there's a real feel-good factor, isn't there, around the club at the moment.
And new signing Mahama Kudus gave Moyes certainly more reason to be happy on his first start, didn't he?
Definitely. The kid from Accra who's been phenomenal.
There's been lots of talk about him as he joined West Ham this summer.
He's been phenomenal for Ajax and he came to West Ham, made his debut and what an incredible start for him.
Scoring at home in front of their fans, he was in high spirits and so was David Moyes.
He had plenty of positive things to say about him.
Really pleased that he's made a big contribution already.
And look, he's still getting used to us, we're getting used to him.
As we said many times about new players coming to the Premier League, some settle in very quickly, some take a bit of time.
We're going to give more of that opportunity and hopefully we get the player that we've brought in.
He made a good contribution last night.
Faduma, Jesse Lingard continues to train with West Ham, doesn't he?
Is he any closer to being offered some sort of contract?
Yes, Lingard was obviously incredible for West Ham back in the 2020-21 season when he came to the club,
scored nine goals, five assists in 16 games and really showed himself as that incredible player that he is,
that striker, that Manchester United.
He didn't have such a great time with the club when he came over here on loan.
It seemed like we got the player that everyone remembered for such a long time.
Went back to Manchester United fighting for his chance to be in that squad but ultimately it didn't work out.
Went to Nottingham Forest and for the last month or so he's been training with the squad.
David Moyes had a lot of positive things to say about him, his attitude and his training regime.
Ultimately, he seems to be getting back to the fitness that he wants.
David Moyes remembered him for that player that he was.
There hasn't been much of an update in regards to the contract from that aspect,
but David Moyes had a lot of positive things to say about him in today's press conference.
I think Jesse's starting to get himself back.
He's had the best party a month now, pre-season work and involved in a lot of football.
He's doing well. We've got no real update to give you from what we've said before.
We're happy to try and get Jesse in the right condition.
Overall for West Ham, it was definitely a brilliant night for them last night at home.
They'll be travelling away to Anfield.
They've got a big task at hand against Liverpool, who've had a bit of a sticky start to the season.
They seem to have come back pretty much the majority of their game.
West Ham have definitely got a massive task on them as they go away on Sunday
to try and get some points away from Anfield.
Faduma, thank you very much indeed.
