and marry another man. 把这首词演绎和唱得最好听的就是此版本。由关栋天、毛阿敏演唱

The famous poet Lu You married his cousin, Tang Wan, and they enjoyed a happy marital life. But Lu You's mother didn't like her daughter-in-law, believing that her son's deep attachment and affection influenced his aspirations and career. Besides, Tang failed to give birth to any children. So, Lu was forced to give up his true love. Tang Wan thus had to marry another man Zhao Shicheng.
One day, Lu came across Tang and her husband Zhao in the Shen Garden. Zhao withdrew for them to have a talk. His ex passed him a cup of wine. Lu was too overwhelmed with sadness to say anything except to write a poem on the wall.

Later, Tang read that letter repeatedly and was also filled with grief. She wrote a poem with the same title.
Soon, Tang died in melancholy when Lu was only 35 years old. Lu visited the Shen Garden 4 times throughout his life, the last one at 84.

The most heartbreaking lines are as follows:
Tang: Today, everything is different. (We both have our respective families. so) we are so far away. Now, I am seriously ill.
Afraid of being asked, I have to swallow down my tears and smile to pretend.
Hide, hide, hide my sorrows from others.

Lu:
Spring is everywhere but you are like the green willows confined within the palace walls, too far away to reach.
How hateful the spring breeze is, blowing away our joy so ruthlessly.
Full of sadness, my life has become very desolate in the past few years. Looking back at that time, what I can do is only sigh: Wrong, wrong, I was completely wrong!

The spring scenery is still as beautiful as before, but you are thinner and waned away.
My tears soaked the silk handkerchief. The vow of eternal love is still there, but I can never send you my letters written on the silk. Looking back at that time,
I can only sigh: NO! NO! NO!
