With installation beginning back in April 2023; SpaceX has hit a record-setting 4 months to complete the flame deflector, namely the water deluge system for their OLM. And what the system just did last time fired SpaceX fans up.

On July 28th, the Public finally took a chance to witness the Starship flame deflector’s power for the first time. Throughout several videos of the test via social media, we can see immense fountains of water up toward and from multiple angles, surrounding the orbital launch mount. In the comment below, many people expressed their interest in the way the water came out from the steel plate in Central, it looked like a water flower in bloom. However, some also doubted how it would work with the ignition of 33 Raptor engines atop the pad.
