(Ligue 1 2023/2024): Highlights MONACO -STRASBOURG

It's a debut in the Monaco backline for new signings Wilfred Singo and Denis Zakaria to face Strasbourg. Jaeg Nobelgaard the one to watch in the Alsatian's line-up after grabbing a goal and an assist in last week's win over Lyon. Kicking off the Patrick Vieira era in ideal fashion. Sunday's later afternoon kick-off was postponed to the evening amid high temperatures across the country. But Monaco would be very much feeling the heat if they failed to win at the Stade Louis II for a fourth consecutive game. And the hosts off to a flyer as Takumi Minamino wins it high up the pitch and unleashes a low strike past Mats Sels. The former Liverpool man getting on the score sheet this week after setting up a goal last time out. Carrying on an impressive run of form. The Japanese international looking to make amends after struggling in his first season in the Principality. Strasbourg go behind for the first time since Vieira took charge. But the visitors come close to equalising as Delen beats his man down the left. Crosses it for Lerba Modiba but it's just over for the South African. The striker flying high but unable to keep his header down. And the Japanese international was on target again before the break. Heading home from Caio Henrique's cross to double his size lead. Minamino already doubling his goal haul from last season. And grabbing his first brace since 2018. Monaco, the team against which Strasbourg have lost the most games in Ligue 1 Uber Eats history. With 47 defeats. The visitors had 45 minutes to stop that statistic from looking worse. And Minamino was involved once again for Monaco's third goal. This time turning the provider as Wissam Ben Yedder finishes from a tight angle. A third goal of the season already for the Monaco captain. And it's another flurry of goals from the visitors. Having found the net seven times in two games. And keeping a clean sheet with a new look back line. A perfect start to Adi Huter's time at the helm. The season go top of Ligue 1 Uber Eats at the end of matchday 2. But it's a disappointing first away trip from home for the Alsatians this season. Who hadn't conceded three in a Ligue 1 Uber Eats match. Since their last match against Monaco back in April.
