PS5 Game Pass:

I’ve written in the past that Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s ace-in-the-hole. Combined with Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft has a superweapon that neither Sony nor Nintendo can match.
When Bethesda announced that its massive AAA space-RPG Starfield was being delayed until 2023, many people critical of my argument took it as a sign that I was wrong. Many random people on Twitter sent me screenshots of my previous opinion pieces with something along the likes of ‘This you bro?’ suggesting that because of the delay of a single title, the entire argument (which they surely didn’t read) was negated.
This is silly. Xbox Game Pass is a good value because of the sum of its parts, not because of any single game lineup in a given year. Of course it’s a shame when a game is delayed—or when a game is released mired in controversy, such as Halo: Infinite, which appears to have launched as a deeply unfinished product.

Stock Issues:

Xbox's chief financial officer has said the ongoing supply chain issues impacting console availability might remain challenging through 2022, suggesting it won't be very easy to find a new system until 2023.
Speaking during an investor call this week attended by GI.biz, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart said "the supply chain environment could remain rocky through 2022 and the holiday season." He added that one of the issues impacting Xbox and others is limited parts and the other is "elevated logistics pricing pressuring margins."
Microsoft does not announce Xbox sales numbers, but the Series X|S family of systems consistently outsells the PlayStation 5 in the US, suggesting Microsoft is having an easier time with the supply issues than Sony. That could change in the future, though, as Sony is projecting a big uptick in PS5 sales in the future, suggesting Sony believes the supply chain problem may be easing up.

Summer Game Fest demos:

Xbox has announced a week-long demo event starting next week as part of Summer Game Fest, where users will be able to sample over 30 upcoming games direct from their Xbox consoles.
The event starts on June 21st and runs until June 27th (local dates might differ slightly), at which time the demos will disappear again so it’s worth keeping an eye out and jumping in if you’re keen!
Xbox promises these demos aren’t the typical slice of a finished product that you’d see closer to a game launching, rather they’re ‘show floor’ type builds of games still in development so it’s a great opportunity to see how these games are shaping up behind closed doors. Think of it like the current Steam Next Fest demo event (which you should get around while you still can – here are our picks of what to play!)
