Bowron Lake to Clinton, BC

All right 1107 check of time Let's hit the road Okay, this is Wells This is just outside of Barkerville. The Wells is the turnoff to go to Barwon Lakes is just between Barkerville and Wells and Wells is like Barkerville is not a town. It's just a kind of a tourist site That like a giant Fort Langley and it's really only 20 bucks to go in and it's really really really cool Well, this Wells is a town and it's really really cool. Except it's more like a town. You can do stuff buy stuff and Wow. Anyways, this is where you can get gas. You turn at the Jack of Clubs pub and This is the frog on the bog. I don't know what it is But you turn up the frog of the bog just past the the Jack of Clubs pub and there's a little place you can gas up here Yeah, I had asked somebody But this is just and then you turn, okay Yeah, you cross the bridge and you turn right and there's a there's more There's more there because you drive past the more and when you when you turn right up Off the bridge and you go up that road there There's a Sunset Theater where they have live theater and it's all antique Buildings usually small towns suck, but this small town is freaking Amazing. This is really really cool. It's a lot of history here like the mining history the gold mining history and and this Jack of Clubs this The store behind the pub this about the great with the gas that you can go by fishing gear. You can buy dehydrated food for when you go On the canoe trip, so Frog on the bog Jack of Clubs Jack of Clubs is the name of that lake It's the name of a guy from Missouri who came here during the gold rush This is freaking awesome. Like wow, like I wasn't sure about coming all this way, but wow, this is nice Okay, this is the road from back down from Williams Lake to Cash Creek Anyways, you can see that the dearest when coming back in the afternoon and coming up in the morning fog is night and day Coming up in the morning fog. It was cold and wet and I'm thinking to myself Cross Canada. Can I really do this? Here we are back at the Hungry Bear Diner at Lackalache. They have Wi-Fi and they have good food But Lackalache, it's a nice lake. It's very long You know, the provincial campsite is at the north end on the other on the right side of the street across the street from the lake It's only 18 bucks a night, but they have no showers and Wi-Fi. They have some lake shore resorts kind of like quote-unquote kind of like Bowery Lake it was like Lackalache is nice. And this is a nice diner. So we're gonna Sign in and before we head back down, hopefully to Pemberton we'll see how the highway is How I feel, how far I can make in the daylight Okay, this is one of the places for trail rides. This is right If you're coming north, this is right before you get to Lackalache I just had dinner at the Hungry Bear Diner And I just left south and here it is it's called the Spring Lake Ranch Trail rides, log cabin. I guess you go horseback riding on trail rides. Sounds pretty cool. There's a few of those That's something cool to do Okay, we're on the road to Downing This is creepy. I don't know how this is gonna work I'm just kind of thinking out loud here. I'm probably just doing the math and rationalizing some common sense here a couple of setbacks Ran out of daylight. I didn't make it to Pemberton. I was just taking my time, you know, and I came down and I saw this sign Big, big bar lake, big bar campsite, two kilometers. Okay, I'll just pull in here and crash the night and then head down Pemberton Brandywine Falls Squamish And then hit the ferry to Seashelter and the Apollo River And I turned the corner and it was two kilometers to the turnoff But after the turnoff it was like 33 kilometers to the to the lake Okay, and then I go and it's a gravel road Okay, so I'm thinking all right, you know, there's a guy a young guy at the at the Byron Lakes and he was saying You know on a motorcycle you can just go whenever you want to take your time and you know If you plan ahead sometimes you miss opportunities, okay, let's just seize the day, you know, I mean Byron Lakes was 28k on a dirt road and it was a magnificent experience. So let's try this So I'm going along this dirt road and it's like Washboard potholes Just like Irritating like on a car would be fine But on a street bike it just sucked and I was going and I was going I couldn't get out of first gear I was going like 20k the whole way I was going I was going I was going and then finally I'm like halfway there and it dawns on me. I'm going I'm going 20 kilometers an hour So 38k is gonna take me over an hour. This is gonna take a long time So I flagged an oncoming car down and I says, you know, is there a lake up here? You know, how far it are we halfway? Is it any good? And He said there's a lake there. It's a small lake and it's there's like campers there. Oh, yeah, there's about two campers there I'm like two campers okay, and He showed me on the GPS I was even halfway there and I just I just you know, I'm just gonna turn around I just want to drive. I just want to drive pavement. This is washboard It just sucked just sucked So anyway, so I finally met that kiss the ground. Okay, I'm on dry pavement and then I see a sign that says When I ask a gas station There's here's his gun dark. Yes a gas station the nearest campsite. This is Downing. Okay. I'm at Clinton small town the village of Clinton Down It's great great start looking at beautiful beautiful Road into the campsite. It's it was really nice It's green few trees kind of ranches cattle ranches there. It's like deer in the road. So I said cattle is Different geography, it's pretty cool And I get there and a very small lake very small site mostly RVs And says it's full I says I know you're saying says fool, but I'm just kind of stuck Says nope He says you go down here go there And I'm like, yeah, I think I'll just And the lady said there's just a place on the way to Cache Creek So I'll try it and see so arriving by on my way to Cache Creek I blow by one. It's this campaign. I just do This is really this it will I turn it on I pulled up this is you guys got 10 sites And So anyways, it's There's just one other tenter that pulled in just after me and they're just in our car and parked I guess It's it's right by the freeway so you can see cars and it's a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny lake Anyways, it's it's it's it's a make-do situation right now It was better than then then part then I knew that wilderness Big bar like thing would be on my way out. There was a freaking bear And it's like I I mean him running scared is a good thing because I'm on my bike Watch for potholes but You know, that's the whole thing about camping. I don't mind seeing the bear on a day hike Or the side of the road when you're a car that that country camping with Bears I don't know whatever it's just the whole purpose of this trip is just to relax and to have fun That's what Barkerville was that's what Wells was that's what That's what Bowery lakes was so So anyways, I get here and I look Pull up to my dry sack with my tent and all my gear in it is broken I guess all that I see I was worried about Something falling off my bike bouncing up and down all that. I was going slow, but you know, sometimes it's like And I'm just worried about something falling off my bike here and then sure enough like my back rack is screwed It's I lost a bolt in his bed and it's okay that was a little unexpected This is Willow campsites between Clinton and Cache Creek Right on the freeway. I Guess it's called Willow because there's a willow tree there And there's a tiny little lake here got a Cute rowboat that looks kind of scary to get on and I have no idea why they have this little fountain there Like I say, we're right on the freeway, I don't think I was gonna get any sleep last night I did I had some couple of weird dreams There's only one other tent site, but I slept in the car Too smart because probably less noise. I had earplugs, but still didn't muffle much but Anyways the mostly RVs here and the outdoor Outhouses have flush toilets and it looks like they just built them. It's very clean wood So this was in a pinch I was running out of daylight the other campsites were full because of the long weekend Yeah, I was in the pinch because The other campsites were full It was getting pretty dark so I was either this or I ride all night anyway, so that road to big Big bar or whatever Not even halfway along But my rack is completely bent here and it's missing My rack is completely bent here and it's missing a bolt there So I'm thinking my options I can I was thinking, you know, I can get up and nail in some duct tape from the office Tighten up the bolts and see if that'll work if it won't worst comes to worst scenario what I've done before is My dry sack up to my handlebar and have the whole dry sack on the gas tank. I've done that before when I went when I went Kayaking in Tofino, but how did I do that on my motorcycle? I don't know. I remember I had a dry sack on my gas tank We'll see I guess this is kind of more zen than the other side of the motorcycle. We got the socks under here to keep the bag from hitting the muffler and catch it on fire and we're gonna see if we can fix that broken bolt So here we are I also have a keyring Let's see if I can get the keyring through there Look at that I couldn't get the keyring through it but I have the lock and I made it the lock made it through so that's gonna work because the lock is probably going to be just as strong as the bolt so that's gonna work and then I can tighten up the other things and I'll be good to go holy mackerel wow there you go the lock wouldn't close so I put the lock the other way and it actually closed and locked so now it's not going to fall off it's secure that's a secure piece of metal going through there so it's still bending let's see if I can tighten it up let's see I have a wrench and a screwdriver from the back here the screw in the back here coming loose so I'll tighten it up and see what happens I couldn't tighten it up it still wobbles a bit but that's as far down as it goes and it's solid with that so I guess we'll go along with that we'll strap it to there or to there we'll try here if it doesn't work we'll strap it to the front and we'll hit the road alright we're by the willow tree and we're gonna have breakfast and yeah I can vlog from the road yeah I made that vlog post about the the plane crash in Parwan Lake but I didn't mention that I was on the scene at the time it flew right overhead and people said they saw it crash and I didn't hear anything so I rode my bike out there didn't see anything but the airstrip was right literally right behind the office and the staff from the office went and they saw the plane spurt remains and there were no survivors but I'm not going to mention that I'm on the road because Blaze is still trolling me and I don't want him to send one of his meth head friends to steal my guns while I'm gone so I'll mention this trip when I'm finished remind you now that Blaze has teamed up with Jamie Bacon and he's ratting out some of his meth head friends because he's jealous of their success while he's in the witness protection program he probably doesn't have any meth head friends he can send over to steal my guns but the police might because if the police have him and Jamie Bacon in the witness protection then I hit his compromise anyways for my next trip I'm going to blog about it on the road on route but I found a place I can store my long guns at my executors place so my handguns I can store at the gun range I found that out that was kind of one of the things holding me back from the long trip because Blaze is still he's still trolling me everyday the guy is a mental case he's just a saint false liar, false accuser going in the flesh but it's like what does the chaffs of the wheat say at the door it's just as annoying as what he says doesn't matter, he's just a troll anyways I'm going to top off the blog approve comments and hit the road okay so that wasn't so bad, we came here at dark everything else was full and Willow Springs Resort there's a willow tree they had wifi they had warm showers you don't have to put toonies in them for some reason by Bower and Lake you had to put toonies in the water, that's kind of like England back in the day but whatever so we'll see I was worried that I was going to have to go home and fix the bike but I think that lock might be a temporary fix and like I said, even if it freaking falls off the back I can simply strap my my dry sack to the handlebars and have it on the thing so I think I'm going to keep going forward I'm going to go forward with the original plan even though it's the long weekend it's going to be crazy, at least with the motorcycles you get to cut the queue on the ferry I don't know we'll keep going forward and see what happens one step at a time the only thing with this thing is that it's like really close to the oh ----, oh there you go on the tent oh, under the bike it's really close to the freeway and I just don't like that but the plus was that other thing would have been full of bears you know, so whatever I kind of like the idea of being on the lake with the with all the RVs it's very rare that the bear comes out of the bush into that site anyways, whatever but it turns out that just around the corner I guess there's two provincial campsites I didn't see on the map one at the turn to Cache Creek Highway 99 and the other way, halfway along 99 towards Lillooet Marble Arch or something like that so we'll check those out on the way down because that would be good to know for future reference here we go oh yeah, this is this is my night light this is just a cheap light I got at Walmart I have a headlamp and a small tiny flashlight but this I got just to stuff in here so it's my night light in the tent it works quite well so like I said I got a headlamp, a small flashlight and this is my night light I finally remembered which zippered compartment I put my put my pre-workout in so yeah, you can get water at most campsites I just brought a Ziploc bag for a pre-workout I use AminoCore Blue Raspberry that's what I like so I could have brought the beet juice crystals but I just really wasn't feeling the beet juice that's more for a fast and I'm kind of carb loading on this trip so here we go but the sun's coming the sun over the... there we go, the sun is just breaking just breaking, nice I mean the sun rose a while ago but the hills we couldn't see it and you could see it was coming down now it's just hitting the lake and it warms up considerably when the sunlight hits in the summer and there's no fog here so we're going to hit the road and we might go with our original plan but we're just going to take our time and stop at a few sites along the way I guess that's the zen in the art of motorcycle maintenance is it's not the destination, it's the journey well for me sometimes it is the destination like for example getting to Bowen Lake was a destination it was a magnificent destination but sometimes you know it's nice to stop and see some of the things along the way too look at that sun rays breaking, breaking through the clouds the sun rays nice nice, I was a bit discouraged because I thought I was going to have to go home to fix my bike but I think we're just going to make shift with that lock and if the thing falls off I'll just drop it to my handlebars and keep going and I guess there's more than one willow tree there's a couple of willow trees here nice ok so while we're here I guess I should mention this is kind of funny I had this laptop set up by the willow tree and updated a few blog posts and I can keep going this is nice this is kind of like where we like to retire but you know everybody's talking in the news about I guess Justin Trudeau's marriage is breaking down I really don't care but people were talking about a while ago they were sending me all kinds of links red flag, this is happening she's not staying with him here, they're separate you know the media was covering up covering up I didn't want to say anything until it was official even the fake news I don't care obviously the fake news is going to want to turn them both into celebrities because of it like Kardashian or something like that they're all idiots especially Justin Trudeau there was more information that's come forward about his his termination from being a high school teacher in BC and there was a news article in the States that interviewed the father of the girl he had an inappropriate relationship with and I've linked to it on my blog but he was terminated or he left midterm, which is unusual because of an inappropriate relationship with the student and the father said although there's a gag order his daughter received a massive amount of money he's not covered by the gag order and he said that yes there was an inappropriate relationship with Justin Trudeau and his daughter when he was a teacher in BC that's why he left midterm and that he said that she was younger younger than 16 when she said significantly younger defined significantly younger that she was younger than 16 when he was a teacher and she had an inappropriate relationship with her and it was shortly after that that he met his current wife kind of like swooped him in real quick and swept away and we were all fooled by the hoopla and now we're all seeing Rebel News and True North have gone into a little bit deeper on some of the things he said and did in the yearbook he was on the yearbook committee while he was a teacher in BC having that one inappropriate relationship but there was a lot of crazy stuff when there was another teacher that was fired for an inappropriate relationship with the kid and when you look at the yearbook there were just so many weird things that guy was doing obviously he was doing blackface and dressing and very crazy costumes he was just when you look at all of the stuff if you take the inappropriate relationship aside and you take a look at the evidence, evidence based research you take a look at the evidence of the stupid stuff he was doing in the yearbook that he documented because he was on the committee that guy is just a complete idiot and he fooled all of us obviously he fooled his current wife that he's getting divorced from but I think slowly and surely people are starting to see through, but I mean if the media tries to make them both look like the Kardashians and turn them into celebrities good luck with that this is why I'm doing my road trip because I'm doing something else I'm not, you know, Dire Straits Dish No Dirty Laundry I know what people want I don't care what people want I care what I want and I want to turn the page and I want to do something new and I want to do something positive and that's why I'm here and that's what I'm doing it's like, in the beginning I had that picture at Hell's Gate, it was kind of metaphorical I talked about Vinny and Sinferno and now I'm not going into hell I've talked about, you know, the hell that the drug trade is but I'm not going to flog a dead horse people are free to choose I was never involved in that life, I was involved with helping people pull out of the life but believe me, I just, you know, I've had enough I just want to walk away and do something different do something positive and find new things to see and places to go because when I travel outside the city off the beaten track and I see all these places, this is the real world you know, so we've gone from Vinny and Sinferno to Vinny and Paradise and it's like the Louis Armstrong song, I have a wonderful world people experience trauma, there's no question about that when you take a step back and look at the world collectively it's a beautiful world and it's a beautiful life just have to recognize that and make our own choices you know, it's like that Bob Seger song Roll Me Away, that's kind of the theme for this mini trip I've seen several red hawks I've seen several hawks in flight, you know, there's a line in that song, it was like, normally I always see eagles in flight, but I guess because I heard that song, normally you see lots of hawks sitting on lampposts over the freeway, I think they, after they have a meal, they just kind of just chill, because they're full and then when they're hungry, that's when they start flying and looking for food, I think that's what that, there's a person on Cross Mountain, there's a birds of prey presentation, that's what they said I don't know, but I've seen a few hawks in flight on my motorcycle trip and there's a line in that Bob Seger song there's another Bob Seger song talking about turning the page, and it's like, that's the thing that's the theme, I mean, Blaze is still trolling me, he wants to go back and do the same thing, why? because he's doing the same thing, he's stuck under his protection, and if he doesn't create a market for him, then he's got no source of income, because he can't go back because he's rattled all his friends and he's just a compulsive liar, and he's just like a damn soul in hell everything he says and posts is just I don't approve of the posts but he just constantly spams me this guy's a mental case, and it's always you've got mental problems, you've got mental problems you've got mental problems, you know, and it's like quite often, you know, who thinks the lady doth protest too much you know, the people that are so accusatory of that, are the ones that have those same issues themselves anyways, I don't want to talk about that guy, that guy's an idiot you know, and that stupid spook, like he just won't accept no answer, and he just tries to play the victim tries to play the boy, and he just leave me alone no means no it's just I've turned the page and we're seeing new things, so this trip has been very positive, so I just wanted to throw that in you know, Justin shows getting divorced, no one cares, guy's an idiot even his wife can see that now, so as more and more people see that, then he's not going to get reelected and there's a lot of crazy things that we've got to deal with, government overreach electronic voting, dominion voting, there's a lot of serious issues that we have to face but the insanity of the narrative is what we reject and another example that this trip is that there's a ton of RVs with young children it's like, how can you afford that RV and all that gas with those young kids I mean, when I was a kid my parents had like a tent trailer one of those tent trailers, yeah it was a little bit lower budget but I was in the crib, they brought me when I was a kid it was a good thing, you know people don't do that anymore, well these people are but camping with your family and your kids is a good thing and we need to do more about it, it's like these 15 little cities you know, if you can ever believe that you could live here the whole thing is rogue, you know mobility rights is one of the charred old rights and we need to use it or lose it those rights and yeah, so travel is good road trips are good seeing the sights are good and this is the real world you know, the dark abysses in the cities is not like I said that saying that a nine year old man with a soul to salvation as high as the utmost high and searching to incantate the world's considerations to the darkest abyss he needs to burn in the depths of hell and expand and expand upon eternity's expanse in this kingdom of God I'm not you know, anymore I used to be but I believe in good and evil and I separate myself from the evil and I separate myself from the religious extremism so we're doing the zen thing take a walk in the wild side well I got it back on I notice there's a lot of pressure right here, this is a cheap rack I bought so no more gravel roads and if I do that four wheel drive road off aligned it's short if I do that I'll just have to hook this up to the handlebars and have it on my gas tank and that way it won't be bouncing up and down on that off road I don't like doing gravel potholes, I hate washboard potholes yeah, always we're past that we're moving forward we love dry flat pavement
