Thousands of people are trapped in Zhuozhou! Beijing discharged floodwater without warning

A heavy storm on July 31 caused heavy rainfall in three regions of China: Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. Among these regions, Zhuozhou City in Hebei province, with a population of over 650,000 people, was severely affected by the localized heavy rain and flood waters released from Beijing. Many distress calls were made online, with some netizens in Zhuozhou believing that the authorities failed to provide sufficient or any advance notice for evacuation, resulting in thousands becoming trapped.
