Join our Egyptologists Dr Margaret Maitland, Senior Curator of the Ancient Mediterranean, and Dr Dan Potter, Assistant Curator, examining objects from burials in Egypt's Golden Age (c1550–1186 BC).

When Egypt was at its most prosperous and powerful, wealthy officials wanted to take their riches with them to the afterlife. They filled their tombs with all the beautiful things they enjoyed in life, from jewellery to furniture. People also bought protective magical objects specifically for burial, such as coffins, canopic jars and shabtis.

The Tomb is open until 3 September 2017 at National Museum of Scotland
