Tender, chewy and soft at the same time, sweet rice cakes are a popular snack throughout southern China, often served as a dessert or an afternoon snack. And this New York family has been making them for over 80 years.
Paul Eng is the third-generation owner of Fong On, but when he took over the business in 2017, there was a problem: he didn't know the recipes. So he had to learn everything from scratch and in the process he rediscovered his family's legacy.
