I'm Learning the Chinese Bamboo Flute
Hey guys. This video is the start of a new journey for me - learning the Dizi, a beautiful Chinese bamboo flute that is said to date back 9000 years. I thought it would be a nice idea to vlog my journey of learning this instrument, as I take it to some of the majestic places in New Zealand. I am still a newbie, so don't be too critical of my playing :P
Note: The sound of the flute in this video isn't actually the characteristic sound of the Dizi. For now I am using tape, and not the Dimo, which is used to give the Dizi its distinct sound. I will talk about that in the next video.
If you play this instrument I would love to get some tips and advice! I'm not sure how or what to practice. For now I am just enjoying playing and getting a feel for it.
Thanks so much for watching :)
